I don’t think Shirley has any kids. I remember her visiting an older relative in a nursing home one time, though.

I’m liking Jerry Espenson’s character more and more. He really did give a great closing argument on that case. I also liked the scene with Alan where Jerry said Alan would make a good father (although I don’t agree with that!!! Can you imagine Alan Shore with a 3 year old??!)
Funny how Alan was onto Shirley and Carl In-the Sack!!! Poor Denny…unrequeited love is never fun.
One nitpick…when Denny met the new blonde lawyer, he said to her “Big Kahuna…name on the door!” and walked out. What he should have said was:
“DENNY CRANE!!!” and walked out
I still have not gotten to watch my tape of the show yet.

Jerry’s closing was fantastic. I’m glad they made Clemenson a regular.
I’m intrigued by what Alan said about his father, grandfather and great-grandfather. What did they all do that was bad enough to make him think he couldn’t be a good father? I wonder.
