Boston Legal 4/24

I’m not sure if this one is the one we missed last week or if it is a completely different one. Will watch the tape much later due to other commitments and miss most of the thread in the meantime. Carry on without me.

I thought the case with the “prosti-tots” dolls was pretty stupid. Surely Alan would not have thought he could possibly win this. On the bright side, it gave us a double dose of Jerry, with and without his wooden Winston. I love Jerry, even when he’s in his alter-ego asshole mode. Yay for an episode with more Jerry and less Clarence.

Speaking of Clarence, why the heck did he hop when following Jerry down the hall?

I figured he was either making fun or just seeing what it felt like to hop like that.

I thought the storyline about Denny and the "articulate" fellow was more interesting than the courtroom stuff.

I wish they’d chosen a different actor, though. I am a bit ashamed to say that I will always see Jaleel White as Urkel, and when he spoke, and something other than the whiny Urkel voice came out of his mouth, it just seemed wrong. Articulate, of course, but wrong.

One of my colleagues refers to Ahmadinejad as “I’m-a-dinner-jacket,” but I like Denny’s version better. Ahmine…douchebag!

Not the best BL ever, but I’ll take it.

The managing partners want to get rid of Denny again? Yawn.

Denise realizes she does, in fact, love Brad? Yawn.

“Hands” getting the best of Alan by using his wooden cigarette then NOT using it? Love it!!! Nice how they “made up” at the end.

Even the balcony scene wasn’t as good as usual.

I liked Denny’s genuine, childlike bafflement upon being told that “nobody sounds black!”

I had no clue that was who it was. How did you recognize him?

It was Gail O’Grady that I did not recognize. She looks a lot different than she did on NYPD Blue.

To me, the adult Jaleel White still looks very much like the Urkel of days gone by. I always thought he was pretty cute (except for the incredibly annoying Urkel voice). Now that he’s grown up, it’s OK to ogle him.

The issue of Denny’s alleged racism reminded me of a situation involving a friend of mine. I started a thread about it several years ago.

Good episode. I hope we’ve seen the last of Smokin’ Jerry. I don’t like seeing Alan getting a taste of his own medicine.

I liked Shirley’s press conference. It was honest, at least.

I also liked what Denise said to Brad. It’s the only way the writers could have convinced me that she does love him.
