Boston Manhunt: How Does This End?

The older brother, Tamerlan, is dead. The younger, Dzhokhar, is still, as of right now, at large.

How do you think this is going to end for Dzhokhar?

a) He turns himself in

b) He is captured

c) He kills himself

d) “Suicide-by-cop”

e) He’s killed some other way

f) He escapes the US and is (eventually) discovered in another country

g) He’s never seen again

h) Something else

Where’s the option that the cops kill him in a shootout? Is the E or H?

I would think that’s a D

Considering the firepower at hand against him, personally I’d consider any sort of shootout to be “suicide-by-cop” but I suppose that might just be me.

Killed in a shootout should go under “killed some other way.”

His right-wing gun-nut white male tax-protesting militia puppet-masters of the Tea-Party off him to silence him before he could tell about them.

That wouldn’t necessarily be suicide by cop though.

Anyway, he is killed in a shootout.

Realistically, I’m thinking that the older brother was the mastermind of this operation, and Dzhokhar was always in over his head, and is ultimately a sheep and a coward. The second he’s cornered he’ll blow his brains out.

A former coworker of mine who killed a guy tried to cross the border into Canada. That’s not so far away, and going there would make getting him back require extradition, which Canada tends not to permit unless the death penalty is taken off the table, so if he’s smart and values his life, there could be some benefit to him trying that at one of the less guarded crossings (my former coworker’s mistake there).

Of course, I think suicide-by-cop is what will actually happen.

I think he’s already killed himself, the body has yet to be found.

I don’t think this will end in suicide. I think it will end in a firefight with the cops.

That’s what I’m kind of thinking.

Same here.

With the way the way things were handled the Chris Dorner case, I think law enforcement is going to shoot to kill if Dzhokhar even looks at a cop/agent crosseyed, or moves any body part faster than a snails pace.

That’s not the outcome I want, but I think the LEO’s are going to take absolutely zero risk.

I would rather hear from the kid himself, in his own words, about his motivation/manifesto, and accomplises, if any.

They say his brother had explosives on his body when he was killed, so my worry is that Dzhokhar is similarly equipped and will try to take some more people out with him when he kills himself. :frowning:

Is this, like, a binding poll?

I wish you’d included “He’s already killed himself, in a place that has made his body difficult to find.”

I think he’s going to be caught hiding in someone’s back yard.

I had the hardest time reading this and wanted to believe that your coworker used to be a Canadian border guard (or concerned citizen) who killed someone trying to sneak in from south of the border. Didn’t know it had gotten that bad up there.

I wouldn’t be surprised if some cop revenge-kills Dzhokhar on sight. He might actually live if he alerts some media (so there’s witnesses) and publicly surrenders himself at a public place. It’s possible that a good defense along the lines of “I’m the patsy, my brother was the asshole” would get him life without parole instead of the death penalty.

Any other scenario gives him slim-to-none odds.

At this rate he’ll die of natural causes.

Well. Looks like it was B.
