I don’t think I’ve ever jumped on another Farker in a Pit thread before. But what Bot3 did is one of the meanest things I have seen around here.
Party politics brings out the dickhead in many people but to start ranting about it in a completely inappropriate thread started by someone who is in terrible trouble must be a kind of sickness. Or at least I hope it’s sickness because the alternative is psychopathy.
I have an excellent memory Bot3, and I will remember this when and if you ever need help.
Heck, I’ve had free home Internet access (dialup) available since 1995 through my school. And this is a rather podunk town. The idea that poor people can’t get online is ridiculous.
I’m not a legitimate victim, really. I bitch and whine and spend too much time with my head up my ass feeling sorry for myself, especially lately. But I know it was my own fault I ended up here.
And I haven’t spent all my time trying to quit being so homeless, to be honest. A good chunk, yeah- of course. But probably not as much as I should.
I’m doing my best to quit wallowing and be properly productive and take better charge of my life. Truly.
And I seriously, sincerely appreciate the help and kindness I’ve gotten here, including people who have stood up for me. It’s nice to know I’m not alone.
IMO anyone who is homeless is a legitimate victim of something.
I hope that asshole didn’t make you feel bad. You’re going through something very difficult and I’m sure you’re doing the best you can. And I would be feeling sorry for myself too. Don’t feel like you have to have some great attitude about this, it sucks and you don’t deserve it.
Dorothy, there’s some asshole philosophy that posits that poor, downtrodden people have to spend every waking minute of every day being, broke, miserable and trying to improve their situation. That’s complete bullshit. You are allowed to feel badly about your situation, to seek out support and to try and salve your mental health by occasionally doing something other than just simply surviving. Don’t let some colossal asshole whose opinion wouldn’t merit with even those that birthed it, bother you. Obviously, that cretin is beyond fucked up and impressed with their luck in life. So, ignore whatever it spews. I’m certain it’ll have a short tenure here and in no time, you’ll be back on your feet. It, on the other hand, we’ll always be a reprehensible dipshit.
In addition to the other recommendations for bot3, I suggest an English class or two. He’s hit no fewer than two of my pet peeves in written English–and in one post.

Not to defend bot3 too much, but his Israeli comment could have been related to the relationship that Israel has with the US, not because he is a Jew-hater.

Wait: in your post in the other thread you said that she’s the “type” that wants everything given to her, but now you’re recommending relief agencies? Rather contradictory of you. Sounds to me like she’s just one of the millions of working poor in this country who haven’t yet managed (for whatever reason) to rise to your level of smug self-righteousness. If she is a “type”, it’s the type that is routinely sneered at by people like Mitt Romney and others who can’t see past their own bank accounts. None of us are far from being in the same situation, regardless of how secure you may think you are in this world. Hopefully there will be those who are sympathetic if it ever happens to you.

She also may or MAY NOT be the Queen of England.
She may or MAY NOT be an extra-terrestrial being from the plant Zorg.
In fact, she may or MAY NOT be quite literally anything.
You’re right on another thing as well: she didn’t tell us if she’d availed herself of any of the helpful options that are out there.
She also didn’t tell us what she had for dinner last night (assuming she had dinner), or whether or not she went to the bathroom on Tuesday, or what she got for Christmas when she was twelve.
