Also, Prof.Pepperwinkle, kitap, Knowed_Out, SCAdian and Elendil_s_Heir all earned an “Are You …” query this round.

That’s it for DQs. Get in your “Are you…” questions by 9:00 pm Pacific Time tomorrow 2/4.

Hint:
In DQ #9 I said I was known for music. I never said I was a musician.

Okay, here goes. Shot in the complete dark.

Are you Bernie Taupin?

Good guess, but I assume that Taupin has, like Elton John, won a truckload o’ Grammys.

He’s the only one I could think of.

Never heard of him.

He wrote a lot of songs with Elton John. Goodbye Yellow Brick Road is what I always associate with him.

Ah. I very seldom pay attention to songwriters, even if they write songs I like.

YES!!! I am Elton John’s longtime lyricist and collaborator Bernie Taupin

I assumed the same thing, but surprisingly, he has never won a Grammy. He and Elton mentioned this last year when they won the Best Original Song Oscar for the new song that played over the credits to Rocket Man

Good job, kitap. I was miles away from that.

Well done, CFOHG.

Amazing to me that he hasn’t won any Grammys after all these years. Yeesh - if anyone deserves some, it’s him.

Want to start a February thread, CFOHG?

I think you mean kitap. I was the host last time.

I looked up Elton to see if he had won any Grammys, as I assumed he also must have. He’s got 5. 3 for best whatever performance. 2 for writing, but neither with Taupin. One for the Aida show he did with Tim Rice, and a best instrumental composition.

You’d think by now they would have given Taupin a lifetime achievement award.

Ah, yes, kitap. Thanks. And agreed as to Taupin.
