Botticelli July 2016

I am so deep in No-Idea-Land that I can’t even come up with IQs.

Well, “American” usually means U.S.A. here, so it’s quite possibly a Canadian or Mexican or Caribbean musician.

I have seriously been racking my brain for a Canadian musician and coming up empty. I still have 3-Day Weekend Brain.

Previous IQs:

Is a Pennsylvania fort named after you? - Lord Ligonier.
Did you write Ben-Hur? - Yes, Lew Wallace.
Are you a noted liberal American law professor? - Laurence Tribe.

DQs:

Instrumentalist?
English is his primary language?

Two DQs reserved.

IQs:

Are you the frontman for Rush?
Did Lincoln appoint you U.S. marshal for the District of Columbia?
Were you the coolest of the Mod Squad?

Yeah, still a bit muzzy from last night myself, but…

  1. Charles Dodgson
  2. Clueless, though if you’re talking about The Prisoner I shouldn’t be. But then it’s been a while.
  3. Henry Liddell

Geddy Lee, dunno, Linc.

OK, time to wind things up. It looks like there are 4 DQ’s left available, 3 for Elendil’s Heir and 1 for the Professor.

Duh…you meant the girl Alice in Wonderland is based on…told you I was muzzy. (Besides, #1 wouldn’t be telling stories in The Prisoner anyway.) Can’t recall her name…

Correct on #1. I’m impressed you know #3. I’m less impressed you don’t know that Henry’s daughter was Alice Liddell, to whom, with her sisters, Lewis Carroll first told the Wonderland stories.

DQ: Solo career? (rather than backup or part of a group)

I live for Greek mythology, so Liddell & Scott is well-known to me; but I was unaware of the connection, let alone recalling her last name.

Three DQs reserved.

Hmm. Can’t figure out who this is. What to ask? Any suggestions?

Hell, I spent a good twenty minutes yesterday trying to remember Getty Lee’s name and only coming up with Neal Peart. I am apparently just crap at non-American musicians.

Suggestions for what to ask:

Canadian? (or Mexican, or Caribbean)
Known as a guitarist? (or any other instrument)
Rock musician? (or any other genre)

Of the three, I’d go with finding the genre myself.

Agreed - thanks.

DQs:

Rock genre?
Canadian?

One DQ reserved.

Note to Johnny on game play:

Usually the game goes to a limit of 20 Questions, but the Host of the game has the option of allowing extra already-earned DQs to be admitted.

Yeah, I figured it was too late to limit DQ’s that were already earned.

So, male Canadian rocker, born before 1960, instrumentalist, part of a group. Never won a Grammy.
Last name starts with L.

Greg Lake of Emerson, Lake & Palmer is English. Hmmmm…

Bryan Adams and Geddy Lee are the only Canadian rockers I can think of, although of course I know there are others. Think think think…

DQ:

Guitarist?
