Botticelli - December 2017

Ok, I’m R.

Nah, just kidding - I’ll be I.

Grats DC!

IQ1: Did you claim to write Howard Hughes’s autobiography?
IQ2: Are you the secret identity of the mascot of Marvel Comics’ Not Brand Ecch?
IQ3: Did you write Rip Van Winkle?

IQs:

  1. Are you an English 17th Century Architect who designed St. Paul’s Church?
  2. Were you more qualified than Michael Cassio?
  3. Did you write the hymn When lawless men succeed?

Well, this shouldn’t take long - can’t even think of any guesses for these. Oh, wait - was it Washington Irving who wrote Rip Van Winkle? And for When Lawless Men Succeed I’ll take a wild stab at Irving Berlin. Take two or three DQs each, accordingly.

#1 was Inigo Jones.
#2 was Iago, from Shakespeare’s Othello.
#3 was Christopher Idle.

DQs:

  1. Real?
  2. Alive?
  3. Male?

Clifford Irving, Irving Forbush, correct

Irving x 3!

DQ: Last name start with I?

KO, I have a feeling you’re getting three more DQs, as I don’t even know the gender of Heimdall, but I’ll take a guess at Isla Fisher anyway. Can’t even make a viable guess for the other two.

Izzy Stradlin, Idris Elba, Iggy Pop

If you mean St. Paul’s Cathedral in London, 'twas Sir Christopher Wren wot designed it.

IQs:

Did River Phoenix play you as a young man?
Were you Sid Caesar’s female partner in comedy?
Were you derisively known for your extensive shoe collection?

Inigo Jones designed St. Paul’s Cathedral, Covent Garden.

Not a cathedral (that is, the seat of a bishop): St Paul's, Covent Garden - Wikipedia

  1. Real
  2. Dead
  3. Male
  4. First name starts with I
  5. European
  6. Known for the Arts (on a general interpretation of the term)
  7. Not from the UK

Is number 3 Queen Isabella of Spain? I don’t know the others, so at least 2 DQs to you.

Not Imelda Marcos, but take 2 DQs.

No indeed, but to be fair the original question did indeed reference St Paul’s Church (not cathedral), so was completely fair. I did wonder if it was an error, but knowing the cathedral was designed by Wren, I suspected it was a different church being referred to.

#1 was Janis Ian.
#2 was Indiana Jones in Indiana Jones & the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.
Correct on Isabella.

  1. Died before 1900?
