Botticelli, June 2011

IQ: Have you been described as the second wealthiest person in Canada?

Most of the time I just use one name. Sometimes I go by a title, in which case G could be considered the last initial.

Usually a villain, although I have been a hero at least once.

No, I am not G’Kar from Babylon 5

No. Ask a DQ.

  1. Fictional
  2. Not female
  3. From a work of science fiction or fantasy
  4. Not human
  5. First appearance prior to 21st century but has appeared in the 21st century

Then you aren’t Galen Weston, best known for the Weston chain of bakeries and the Loblaw’s chain of supermarkets.

DQ: Was your first appearance in print?

IQ: Do people rub their cheeks in sympathy when they see you play your music?

Goldfinger was, of course, correct (easy if you know it) but the British TV chef I was thinking of is Gary Rhodes.

IQ: Although best known as an actor (and not named Arnold), did you once run for Governor of California?

IQ: Are you a giant robot bodyguard with a three word killswitch?

No.

No. Another DQ for you. Man, you are killing me. So far I’m 1/5 with you, and the one was a guess.

So you’re not Mauro Giuliani, 19th century guitarist, composer and teacher, as well as one of the rare Italian musicians of that period to have made a substantial name for himself (Beethoven had tremendous respect for him.) outside of the field of opera. If I remember correctly, he has around 140 opus numbers for his compositions, and less than ten of them are songs.

Hmm. A DQ. I must confess, I’m rather stumped.

DQ: When a title is used with your one name, is that title ‘Doctor’?

IQ: Are you a Québécois luthier?

Hiram Ulysses Grant became Ulysses S. Grant for several reasons, including the fact he hated his original monogram (HUG) and because he was erroneously nominated to West Point under what eventually became his “official” name.

DQ: Was your original film appearance in black-and-white?

IQ: Are you an inventive bird?
