I’m guessing you’ve got it.

I’m glad someone does. All I’m coming up with is P. D. James, and she’s British and, if I remember correctly, dead.

Pretty sure I know who it is, but no more IQs are authorised.

You could try a firstname-lastname guess.

Are you N.K. Jemisin?

And we have a winner! Yes, I am N.K. Jemisin, MacArthur genius grant recipient and the only writer to win a Best Novel Hugo for three consecutive years!

Congratulations, @De_La_Rue!

Next round is yours.

Very nice, DLR. I’ve seen the name but haven’t read any of her works.

Her name came up in something I was reading a couple weeks ago. Haven’t checked yet to see if the library has any of her books.

I was in a bookstore in Harvard Yard a year ago, and I picked up a collection of her short stories, How Long 'Til Black Future Month, which was a staff recommendation. She’s an excellent writer. Haven’t yet read any of her trilogies, but I did get The City We Became, which I very much enjoyed. Made me realize just how much fantasy I’ve read comes from a Eurocentric perspective.

Never heard of her. Ah, well.
