Botticelli, Round 15

Did you replace Henry Winkler in the Broadway production of “The Dinner Party”?

re: spectacular chess… No, I’m not Jorgen Larsen.

Did Ronald Reagan give special orders in 1981 to have you buried at Arlington National Cemetery?

Did you play the title character in the film that won the Oscar as Best Picture in 1987?

Did you sink a 45 foot putt to win the 1999 Ryder Cup?

Have you played Colin Farrell’s boyfriend?

I’ve never heard of a Jorgen Larsen in chess (I did meet Grandmaster Bent Larsen once, though).
My intended guy was Grandmaster Jonathan Levitt, who co-authored ‘Secrets of Spectacular Chess’ - do I get a question?

I’m not a famous recent POW (Jessica Lynch), a 40-year-old Virgin admirer (Jane Lynch), Edina’s best friend from AbFab (Joanna Lumley), someone who feels cheated (John Lydon AKA Johnny Rotten), Henry Winkler’s replacement on stage (Jon Lovitz), a 1987 Best Picture actor (John Lone), buried in Arlington in 1981 due to President Reagan’s intervention (Joe Louis), or the winner of the 1999 Ryder Cup (Justin Leonard).

Dunno about Colin Farrell’s boyfriend; ask a DQ. But astorian, you’re wearing me out. I’m going to have to limit to you henceforth to no more than three queries between any of my posts. Thanks!

glee, if Larsen didn’t write such a book, go ahead and ask a DQ.

Jared Leto was Colin Farrell’s lover in Oliver Stone’s “Alexander” biopic.

I wouldn’t be so relentless if you didn’t keep getting them all right!

(Well, technically the Glengarry answer was Jack Lemmon, but I was impressed you knew who James Lingk was!)

My direct question:

Are you male?

Were you alive in the 20th century?

Jim Laker indeed - a question that is easy for many Brits but tricky for Yanks!

DQ: Are you male?

IQ: Have you starred in The New Avengers?

Dead Cat, I’m still not Joanna Lumley.

JL is:

  • not alive
  • not American
  • male
  • not alive in the 20th century

Did you theorize about the inheritance of acquired characteristics?

No, I’m not Jean-Baptiste Lamarck.

Did you compose music for Moliere’s plays?

Did you write a play based on the Scopes trial?

Do you make Bill Simmons uneasy with your fixation on your groin?

[QUOTE=Elendil’s HeirSternvogel, I’m not Jesse Owens - if that’s who you meant, since he’s not a “JL.” If that’s not who you mean, I don’t know; ask a DQ.
[/QUOTE]

I was thinking of Joe Louis (hence “deal a blow”), who beat Max Schmeling in a famous boxing match. Since he came up later and doesn’t fit several of the criteria, he’s obviously been eliminated.

DQ: Were you European?

IQ: Did you play center for the Miami Dolphins?

I’m not a French composer (Jean-Baptiste Lully), playwright of Inherit the Wind (Jerome Lawrence), or Miami Dolphins center (Jim Langer).

Wargamer, I don’t know who you mean. Ask a DQ.

JL is:

Did you have a very fast time in high school?
