No, I am not Richard Miller.
No, I am not Rick Moranis.
Something has come up that demands I leave my computer at least until this evening. I will return to this thread as soon as I’m able.
Am I? I thought I only had two.
RM is:
[ul][li]A living male[/li][li]Not in the entertainment industry[/li][li]Sometime politician and author (though neither is what he’s best known for)[/li][li]Not involved in any sex scandal[/li][li]Not involved in the Watergate scandal[/li][li]Main claim to fame is as a sports figure, if ‘sports’ is not defined to narrowly[/ul][/li]
I’m not going to post another IQ right now, but if someone else wants to this is what I’m thinking: ‘Sports’, defined narrowly, would include team sports like baseball, basketball, football, soccer, etc.; and individual sports like tennis, golf, downhill skiing, auto racing, etc. Not defined so narrowly it might include figure skating, skydiving, scuba diving, bowling and such. If RM’s claim to fame is that he’s a sports figure, but only if ‘sports’ is not defined narrowly, I’m guessing he participates in something such as is listed in the last category.
Of course I could be barking up the wrong tree.
Were you once described as a “terrific dancer” on a TV show?
Altho known for TV and movies, did your career start on Broadway in the 60s, in such notable works as “Nobody Loves An Albatross”?
I’m gonna go with “No, I’m not Rita Moreno” even though she has come up previously. (She was certainly a terrific dancer, and performed on TV).
No, I am not Richard Mulligan.
Are you a Canadian NASCAR driver?
We have decided that a “yes” answer to a DQ entitles you to another.
I’d say scuba diving might be a rough but reasonable analogy to the sport in which R.M. is famous.
No, I am not Randy MacDonald.
I suppose that passes - she probably was once described as such. Though the specific reference was Rupert Murdoch (the Simpsons Fox News crawl) that nearly led him to sue himself.
IQ: Were you stationed in Wales during World War II?
No, and I don’t know who was.
Rocky Marciano (even got some training for the ring)
DQ:Are you someone who is primarily known for playing a sport?
( As opposed to a reporter/announcer/coach. Someone who may have played professionally, but is more well-known for one of the other roles, would not count.
Examples : John Madden, not famous as a player. John McEnroe, more famous as a player than announcer.
I am impressed you knew that or at least knew where to look to find it
Yes - I am definitely a participant in my sport.
(Because the answer is yes, you are entitled to another direct question.)
Information now known about R.M.
- living male
- not in the entertainment industry
- sometime politician and author
- not involved in any sex scandal, nor Watergate
- famous for his participation in a sport roughly analogous to scuba diving
Is your most famous feat known for having an asterisk attached to it?
Do you live La Vida Loca?
DQ #2 : Are you an American?
