I’m so excited! I close on my old house on Friday the 7th. Then I close on my new place on the 14th. We’re moving 22 miles out of town to a little farming community. Our house and land is surrounded by corn fields for miles around. All of this packing and moving furniture has been worth it.
I grew up in the country and have missed it ever since I moved to town 22 years ago. I finally decided that if I didn’t do something quick I wouldn’t be able to afford it, with the way land prices keep going up here in Colorado. I know that it will be kind of a culture shock at first…no store down the street, no neibor watching you over the fence, no barking dogs next door, but I think it will be a good culture shock.
I live in the country, the closest town is 12 miles from me, a small town at that. I lived the city life for 2 years, couldn’t take it. I need the wild open spaces. Congrats, you made a wise choice.

I’ve learned that if someone says something unkind about me, I must live so that no one will believe it.
We made a list of everything we wanted to have when we moved. We looked and looked at different places, and then one day by accident we were out driving and saw a for sale sign on this cool house. We made an appointment, and when the next day to see it. The house was everything we ever dreamed of. It has 5 bedrooms, 3 baths, FR, LR, eat in country kitchen, a huge deck that faces west with a great view of the mountains. It has a loafing shed with three stalls, a kids play fort thing (which completely sold my son on the idea). Tons of mature trees surrounding the huge lawn.
There’s not a thing we plan to do to the house…the couple selling it had great taste and have decorated everything just like we would have done it ourselves. She wall papered and every thing is color coordinated. Plus they’re leaving all of this cool stuff for us. They can’t move the antique piano that’s in the dining room because it won’t fit through the door. They’d have to take out all of the front windows to get it out. They don’t need their riding lawn mower at the patio home they bought, so they’re leaving that as well.

Sorry about all of the posts! I don’t know what happened! I was shut out from posting all afternoon yesterday. I really only hit the send button once! Please forgive me…
Five bedrooms, three baths and a country kitchen…I am so jealous. Are you in the market to adopt a 29-year-old white female? I swear, I’m house-trained.
