I wear “trunks,” which are like boxer briefs but with slightly shorter legs (maybe a two-inch inseam). They kind of resemble what on a woman would be called “boy shorts.”
I like them better than boxer briefs because those four- or five-inch-long legs bunch up on me.
This. boxer briefs are an abomination.
Boxers provide too little support, and briefs provide too much. Boxer-briefs are the perfect compromise.
Who invented the unnatural combination, “boxer/briefs?” and why, and when? I never heard of them until a year or two ago.
None of the above. I wear mid rise bikini underwear. No seams, just enough support and they ride below the belt line of my jeans.
None. I go commando.
Boxers. They look more dignified whenever I’m forced to go pantless in public.
(Plus, there’s the heat and humidity thing).
True. One thing I’ve observed is that when the leg-opening elastic on the BB/trunks weakens – and with mass-market brands it doesn’t seem to take that long – you end up with something very similar to boxers anyway.
Bicyclists, maybe?
I had always worn briefs, until my recent surgery included a groin incision. I switched to boxer-briefs, and there’s no turning back.
If I was a man I would wear boxers. They are more comfortable. I have some that I wear around the house sometimes on warm days.
I don’t get the appeal of boxer briefs. They appear to offer the worst of both worlds. Boxer man m’self–the jersey knit kind 'cause they’re soft and feel nice on the boys.
Boxers for everyday wear. I prefer the standard cloth type; something about the jersey knit style causes them to bunch up on me after a bit of wearing. I just find them the most comfortable style… and if I wasn’t sold on them before, the very first time I got frisky with my first girlfriend, she said something like “Oh thank God, you wear boxers,” which pretty much seared it into my brain.
I wear boxer briefs if I’m going running/doing elliptical or anything similar.
Briefs for sports and work. I can’t stand boxers under pants. They bunch up. For lounging around, boxers.
Just the opposite - the best of both worlds.
