I also learned in a class that (for men) the closer the lengths of your ring and middle finger, the more likely you are to play a musical instrument/be a comedian/get laid a lot.
I don’t remember how strong that correlation was supposed to be, I’d have to check.
Both of my ring fingers are noticeably shorter than my index fingers. I’m female. So what does “shorter ring fingers” mean (or supposed to mean)?
Queer chick here… Ring fingers are about half centimetre longer on each hand.
However… If I actually measure from the crease in my skin where my fingers meet my palm, they are about the same length.

Left hand, ring finger slightly longer than the index finder. Right hand, the index finger is slightly longer than the ring finger. So with both hands flat on the table, the three fingers together (ring, index, and middle) look alike, even though they’re on different hands.
Make of that what you will. I also have a lifeline that splits in half on both hands.
My ring and index fingers are almost exactly the same length, but I don’t fit the description you give.
By the way, Smackie :smack: has ring and index fingers of equal length.
Once again, I have been struck by the mysterious post eater. I posted to this thread this morning and now that post is gone. Clear proof that we’re making some very powerful people uncomfortable with how close we’re getting the truth. That or bad coding.
Anyway, I don’t recall all of what I wrote, but I think we’ve seen that if you’re seeking a statisically average crowd, you shouldn’t come looking on this board.
EEK Me too! I never noticed before. My ring finger is a bout a half of inch shorter than my ring finger on my left hand, on my right hand my index finger is just a few millimeters longer than my ring finger.

Quite female, thanks, quite hetero too, and yet ring fingers 1/2 cm longer on both hands. Also weird splotches of blue nail polish which I’m about a week overdue in removing. 
Looking at my fingers in that condition fifteen times in a row like I have in this thread is driving me nuts. Gonna go use the polish remover now, so that I look like Smackie :smackie: with his/her beautiful fingers. 
As a male, I decided to go ahead and try this myself.
Conclusion: I’m a mutant.
On my right hand, the ring finger is definitely longer than my pointer finger.
On my left hand, the pointer finger is just barely longer than my ring finger.

Left hand: Ring finger and index are the same size.
Right hand: It’s all man baby, yeah! Ring finger longer then the index. I suppose it’s because I use that hand to touch my manhood.

The “curved vs. straight thumbs” is just a matter of a certain gene. It’s not affected by gender, etc. At least, that’s what I remember from high school Biology.

Don’t you find you can ‘fix’ the results a bit depending exactly how you lay your hand down? I think there’s lots of ‘wiggle room’ for getting the result you want. Or maybe I’m just one helluva pulsating mass of raw testosterone.
