Bozo The Clown: RIP

Bozo the clown has died.

I hear they will be putting his ashes in bucket number 3.

I knew a kid who was chosen for Bozo’s Buckets. He crashed and burned at bucket number 3.

He was “the” celebrity of Lakeview Elementary School.

Already been mentioned, but to elaborate: there were multiple Bozos, the most famous of which was Bob Bell, who performed the character for the nationally-syndicated Bozo show out of Boston. Although he did not create the character, Harmon turned Bozo into a household name (even though that was was usually by form of an insult, a use which he frowned upon). But Harmon’s certainly made a career out of clowning around, which is certainly nothing to clown…er, frown at.

A possible scene from his funeral

Aw, being a clown sucks. You get kicked by kids, bit by dogs, and admired by the elderly. Who am I clowning? I have no business being a clown! I’m leaving the clowning business to all the other clowns in the clowning business.

[Seinfeld]

I mean, Bozo the Clown…does he really need “the clown” in his title, as clown? Bozo, “the” clown"? Are we going to confuse him with Bozo the district attorney? Bozo the pope? There’s no other Bozo…

[/Seinfeld]

Seinfeld was wrong about a lot of things.

Since there’s already a thread going on in Cafe Society, I’ll go ahead and close this one.
