BPPV & Epley

Hey guys, so I’ve had vertigo, specifically BPPV for over a month now. Today I went to an ENT and she performed the Epley Manuver on me and told me not to move my head for 24-48 hours. Problem is, I have Cerebral Palsy so I tend to look down when walking with my crutches so I’ve moved my head quite a bit. Nothing too swift, but I’m still worried that I reduced the chances of the treatment working because I’ve moved my head. Plus, I can’t really afford to go back to her, since my insurance is crap and I’m currently in the process of finding a new primary care doctor. Any advice? Has anyone had the Epley Manuver done on them before and moved their head? Does vertigo ever improve?

First of all, did it help?
Secondly, I’ve never heard “don’t move your head” post maneuver.

I’ve never heard that either.

I do a kind of homebrew self-Epley when I feel vertigo symptoms. Basically just flop on the bed this way, then that way, then back, then forward, then repeat the sequence again.

For me, this is extremely nauseating, but extremely successful. I repeat it once or twice and the symptoms vanish, for months at a time.

Hope this helps, BPPV sucks…

Thanks, guys. I can’t really tell if it helped yet, doc said my symptoms may flare up a bit or I may feel “hung over.” My symptoms are…eh. Less dizziness but I’ve been trying to make fewer quick movements. Plus, I was advised to take antivert meds prior to the Epley so that may have subdued things a bit. I’ll be stoked if I stop feeling nauseous/puking since I’m emetophobic. Doc said no bending down or turning my head and I’ve done all those things. Gonna (attempt to) sleep with my head propped. Lets see how this goes…
