Brag!

I taught myself how to write PC applications that interface my Rigol DS1104Z oscilloscope. That’s the geekiest sentence I’ve ever written.

When I was 17, I was madly in love with a brainy girl from a nearby school. We almost met on many occasions, but things never worked out. I swore that one day I’d find her and ask her out.

Now we’re both 39, and she’s on a local dating site. Still single and very brainy. I wrote my profile with her in mind, but she’s not interested in me at all. Hmph. At least I can cross one entry off the bucket list.

I turned in my edits for what will be my first published novel.

It’s trash day today! But the wind blew over the recycling barrel in the street, and I went out and set it up again and picked up the pieces that had fallen out.

Twice, even!

Then I found a rock to put on top of the barrel to keep the wind from blowing the lid open. How brilliantly clever of me!

That was my exciting accomplishment today! Hey, this doesn’t happen every day, y’know.

I have been making a 3D model of 1940s Las Vegas for a shot in a short film. I am spending way more time on it than the shot warrants, but it’s too much fun for me to stop myself. My achievement today is adding in some of the background lights.

This evening we had a wine tasting at church. Each year, before Lent starts, we have the wine tasting andfood tasting. There were all sorts of tasty things to munch on, and to sip.

After everyone has had a chance to taste they vote for the wine they like best, and the food item they like best.

I won for the food! I make baklava, and it went over pretty well. I now have a gift certificate to a nice local restaurant, which I’ll enjoy consuming!

I had lunch with a star from one of the quintessential 1980’s movies.

Was it Molly Ringwald?

I went to the pig races and didn’t have a bet.

So, it is a “photo mosaic” interpretation of a photo you took? Sounds like a complex build - hope you share a pic!

lieu - love #497 and more importantly, that you drove the snot out of it!

As for me - I’m getting ready to take my kid on a college visit trip

Yes, please do! Every time you talk about your art, panache45, I wish I could see it!

Well… I hate to brag. :stuck_out_tongue:

(TBH, you are amazingly close. And your model is way more impressive.)

Thank you

Was it Judd Nelson?

I’ve lived in snow country for all my life. Now at 11,200 feet in the Colorado mountains. 23 years at altitude.

I replaced my plow truck and tractor last year. They where worn to say the least.

Now I have a 2004 Dodge short bed with a new plow on the front, and a 10,000lb Warn winch on the back. Chained up on all 4. Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow.

And a brand spanking new Kabota tractor to pick up where the truck left off.

Most of our snow comes in March and April. Spring is a long way off.

Winter, bring it on. Got ya covered.

And now for something completely different …

This morning wife & I went paddleboarding (generic pix) out our backyard on the Intracoastal.

Perfect weather, good friends, even nice water when I lost balance once and fell in. Saw an osprey catch a fish. Afterwards he flew around a bunch squawking so all his buddies would know. So I’m bragging here about a bragging bird.

Life is good.

Maybe. Or maybe not.

…I had an image published in the Mail on Sunday.

Scroll about half way down, the image credited to Big Mark Photography. Shot on assignment.

Awesome! That brought a tear to my eye. You did good.

At work, I create a lot of stuff–sometimes it’s taking information we have and putting it into a format that’s visually appealing and engaging for families. One of the projects I did was creating one-page graphics of recommended books for kids with a specific focus (like books for kids about going to a doctor’s office, or the first day of school). These are available to print off our website and are distributed via our enews. Anyhoo, the US Department of Ed recently picked one up and included our (MY) booklist for kids in their enews–so not only did it go mostly statewide (the enews I produce), but it went National, distributed by the US Dept. of Ed. Totes Awesome.

WAS IT ET?! Please say it was ET.

When did the Pope visit an orphanage???
