Howdy all, my 1st post so be gentle! Im sure everyone has at 1 point had brain freeze, but how about back freeze? I searched but have not found much! Started last week with ice cream, then today again with a slushy! Feel like i pulled a bad muscle but in my spine area! Should i be worried? Thanx for any and all response! -L.
Can’t say I ever had something like that caused by cold. But there is a whole mess of nerves in the head that could reasonably lead to the back, so I wouldn’t think it’s serious. I’m not a doctor, BTW. And welcome to the board!

Hmm…Don’t know about that one. I’ve never used the PS3 browser before, so I don’t know how different it is from a standard PC one. I would check out the “About This Forum” section and ask there.
I have never had a brain freeze in my life. However, I do get “chest freezes”, where I get an intense pain around my breastbone while drinking slurpees. This sounds likely to be related to your cold-induced back pain. I may be a freak of nature, however.

I’ve had that too and it sometimes does radiate to the back.
I discovered when I was a kid that drinking room-temperature water immediately put a stop to my “cold-throat” (what I called it before I learned it was called “brain freeze”). Does drinking water cure your “back freeze”?
Couldnt tell ya, because both times it happened i was in my car!
I read somewhere that if you get brain freeze from eating ice cream, immediately press your tongue against the roof of your mouth to stop it. Theory is that the warmth from your tongue warms the affected nerves in the mouth roof and stops it.
I have tried that a couple of times, and it does seem to work.
I to have never had a brain freeze but I do get the intense chest freeze!!
