Yes
What happened? I was only half watching/listening to Univision and my Spanish is a bit rusty.
Thanks! I think I like Costa Rica here.
So physical tiredness probably won’t be an issue. But I wonder how the psychological edge will go. It’s not like it was a great game for either team.
This shootout is, so far, quite a contrast to the one between Brazil and Chile yesterday.
And just as i write that, an excellent save by the Costa Rica keeper.
Tico! Tico! Tico!
That’s how to do a penalty shootout.
You mean Brazil and Chile. Go TICOS!
So, is it fair to say that Costa Rica didn’t really deserve to win this? Or is Greece that much worse with having so little production with a man advantage for so long?
And there it is. Happy that Costa Rica is advancing, but this was a terrible game.
Sorry, yes. Corrected.
Ticos!!!
That was Brazil v. Chile
Colombia took care of business and didn’t need a penalty shootout.
Too bad. I thought the Greeks deserved to win this, but such is football. I hope Costa Rica can rediscover whatever it was they were doing in the first three games because this was not a good performance.
Hey mhendo, that was Chile. Just letting you know.
Costa Rica didn’t play as pretty as their other matches, but they held their own with one man down against Greece. So in the end, they did play better than Greece, playing at a disadvantage.
But was the game in Rio?
By Duran Duran?
No it was played in the Mariana trench.
That wasn’t pretty, but it was very dramatic. Los Ticos deserve the win for holding off Greece for so long playing a man down, and for that PK clinic. What a match.
Against NED, there will be an issue with all of those yellow cards: if I counted correctly, two of the starters for Costa Rica today will miss from yellow accumulation, and one from the red card.
Costa Rica!
That was one hell of a shootout. Watching Borges score the first penalty was fantastic. I’ve had a huge crush on that guy ever since he was the star for my local team a few seasons ago. And great job there by Navas!
Most games with Greece are poor to watch. Even worse when the opposition is one man down. Its like having two teams scared to attack.
Well done to the Costa Ricans. An hour with one man down and still pull out a victory.
