Well, that was returning Lahm to the back in trade for some slower midfield transitions. But he sure did look comfortable there.

I don’t think the referee’s being biased; he doesn’t seem to have control of the game. He’s not been very consistent, letting some bad fouls go unnoticed and calling some phantom contact. He let Brazil almost block the Colombian free kick and then let a dust up at midfield go completely unremarked.
Yeah, that Colombian free kick around midfield was an odd sequence.
Also Colombia’s play on their free kick from just outside the box was strange. What’s the point of making the small touch on the free kick to the shooter if you’re not even going to move the ball a foot? It just allows Brazil to close down the shot, without changing any angles.
Yeah, that was a good move, supported by approximately 80 million Germans.
Yeah, what the fuck happened there? One minute it looked like there were going to be warnings and such, and the next second Brazil was streaming downfield in attack as if nothing had happened.
And on the free kick, two of the Brazilian defenders were a good yard or so closer than they should have been.
He allowed absurd levels of encroachment at that Colombian free-kick, and he needs to book someone in yellow sharpish, they are taking the piss a bit now.
Awful, awful refereeing. Should have been 3 or 4 yellows already, not managing free kicks, let a fight go, inconsistent foul calling. 25 fouls and no cards. He’s lost control, if he ever had it.
