I hope FIFA grow a pair and slap a ban on him for the rest of the tournament, but when have we ever known FIFA to do the right thing?
If he’d slagged off a sponsor he’d be out on his arse but actually biting someone? (again) I don’t imagine they care. They’ll say that the ref took no action and the video evidence is inconclusive.
They replayed it from 3 angles on ESPN. On the first two, it didn’t look like much. On the third, you could clearly see that he planted the sole of his shoe on the other guy’s shin and pushed.
I’d be surprised if Suarez plays international football anytime soon. The problem is complicated by his offences being at both club and international level. Im not sure Fifa can sanction Suarez at club level. I also dont know if they can take past offences at club level into account.
I agree, he should be banned - for at least a year. Whatever FIFA decides, though, they should at least take his “The Walking Dead” box set away from him.
Maybe I didn’t see it from that angle, but for me (and the friend whom I was watching with), it looked like a run-of-the-mill foul. Of course his sole touched the other’s shin, but he didn’t push that hard and didn’t stretch his leg very far out. But YMMV.
I just got a look at a picture of the Italian’s shoulder, from when he was trying to show it to the ref. I don’t see how even FIFA is going to be able to brush this one under the rug. I expect Suarez to be gone.
Is there a medical condition that causes people to compulsively bite? It almost looked like Suarez hurt his teeth. Why would he bite if he knew it would hurt his teeth?
Not sure exactly what is up with the Greek keeper, but they shouldn’t be allowed to spend that much time working on him. Either play, or substitute him.
That’s why i called it an illegal stream. If they’re streaming it without FIFA’s permission, it’s an illegal stream, even if the people watching it aren’t doing anything wrong.
Worth being clear about it I think, just so people don’t worry about it. You can watch them quite happily if you can find a decent one (though admittedly they tend to be of a lower quality than the official ones)
