There is a BIG fucking difference between being assertive and capable and saying that all women want to be led. My Wife want’s me to be assertive. I want her to be assertive. You know, like adults that are able to make up their own minds.

First you claimed I said something I simply did not say. Now you’re backtracking to something else entirely, which I’ll entertain. Absolutely nowhere did Brazil ever state that most women wanted to be dominated by men. You completely made that up entirely and it is nothing more than your extremely liberal interpretation of what was actually written.
Perhaps you should go back and read the thread in question, as you’d see none of Brazil’s comments come even close to those things being attributed to him.
There’s been an observation made by some of the conservative leaning posters on this board that the liberal-leaning posters generally like to take what said conservative-leaning posters write out, warp it into some caricature of what was actually written, and then proceed to knock down that caricature or insult the said conservative-leaning poster for a position they don’t hold. I, myself, have noticed this to be quite true.

Once I learned to state a preference, but not insist on it, I found that I was much happier. I mean, if I’m leaning to Chinese, but my husband wants barbecue, hey, I can get Chinese next time. Usually, though, he’ll be OK with whatever I suggest, unless he’s really in the mood for something in particular.
Where? All I can see is that he writes “a lot” Which is of course entirely true. It is hard to find an issue a lot of any large group of people is not into. Including that a lot girls appreciate a man who insists on taking his traditional role. Is there actually anyone disputing this?

There is no way that he could have access to the minds of most “girls.” In truth, he can’t access the mind of even one woman. The claim that he has some grasp on the minds of most women is just one example of how irrational he is to begin with.
But he is silly enough to go further. He claims that most women feel this way although they won’t admit it.. So no matter what women say, he is the authority on what they want. And then the clincher: Women may feel that they want one thing, but they really aren’t aware of what they really want! But he is! Even though he doesn’t know them personally!
This toad should have the retrospective that I do. If he only knew the comments that women make about guys like him. Like a lot of girls born before the end of World War II, I was brought up to expect to live out the traditional roles of women. I didn’t have my eyes opened to the inequities until I was in my late twenties. Once I knew, I had to become responsible for reparenting myself. In many, many ways I take on traditional roles. None of those mean that I am subordinate. Nor is my husband subordinate to me.
I’ve been dissatisfied with my attorney for a while now. The last straw came a couple of weeks ago when in a letter to me he referred to the women who work in his office as “the girls.” How unprofessional can you get? I no longer require his services.
He actually said “most”. Since there are around 3 billion women and girls on the planet then even a tiny percentage could still be “a lot” of people, but a claim about what “most girls prefer” is a claim about >50% of the female population.

Just wanted to add that I’m aware that the current actions in regard to one prejudice are much less severe / impactful than that of previous actions in regard to another. But that’s mostly irrelevant as the it’s the mentality which is being pitted here, which is the same.
Remove Conservative and Liberal, and that’s pretty true. Of course that would mean departing yourself with your bias, and as for a carefully grown beer belly, the thought of life without one can be a horrifying prospect to some.
This is precicely the point I came into this thread to make. While it is true that people tend to not know themselves exacty what they actually want, there is no way brazil84 could have determined what women actually want.
For all I know, brazil94’s wife is 100% happy with what’s going on. Unlike in the thread that spawned this one, we have no evidence that his wife is unhappy. His statements about his marriage are not enough to pit him. But his statement that women want to be led, and that he’ll continue to believe this even if they say otherwise, is definitely the sign of a misogynist.
That said, taking his apparent misogyny and combining it with the fact that he couldn’t tell from the original thread’s OP that the woman was unhappy (at least as stated), and it does lead me to wonder if his wife is as happy with the relationship as he thinks.
