brazil84: preening, sexist, self-imortant, gynophobic douche

What accent do you want it in?

‘‘Why is Bosstone acting like such a…? Oh.’’

On preview: What Freudian Slit said.

Me??

Vinyl Turnip, was your remark directed at me??

ETA:

Whew.

Well, that will teach me not to be lazy and abbreviate any more names. Sorry about that.

I promise I know the difference between a Bosstone and Bosstrain.

Do you say this about women who live under Shariah law or who “choose” to undergo genital mutilation?

Eric Cartman pelase!

So everyone that has a job is acting irrationally?

The question is, can you safely grab my arm, or will the internal bleeding kill me? I need to know in case I ever go to a Dopefest and go around shaking hands with the wrong people. I’d be raping some and being murdered by others and it’s just very confusing.

Don’t forget swingers. I don’t like them either.

Or people who leave the company of their minor children for no reason other than their own personal enjoyment!

Never mind, that’s another thread.

Just have a few drinks first. Then we will know who to blame…

Taking a job does not require you to surrender your civil rights or subordinate your entire life to the service of another.

And if you want to contrive a job which does requirte those thingsm then, no, it’s not a rational choice.

IGSF1 at distal Xq25.

Does Bosstone = Argent Foxtrot?

Typical idiotic comment from you. And I love how you characterize my position (that it’s stupid to criticize agreements other people freely make just because you would not make them) as appalling.

And I wasn’t aware that Dio specifically was not OK with dom/sub relationships, so I retract that comment as it applies to him.

QFT

no, No, NO! For the umpty-zillionth time, it’s Agent Towers!

Yes.

Of course, I am not saying that we should therefore conclude that every victim of FGM and every woman living under Sharia law are doing so of their own free will.

I am saying precisely what you responded to: When you have an adult entering into a relationship of any kind, I think our notions of freedom and self-governance demand that we take a person at their word that they are acting of their own will.

That would seem to exclude the vast majority of FGM victims, who are not adults when mutilated.

As for the millions of women who live under Sharia law, if they want to get out but can’t, then obviously they are not claiming they are acting of their own free will.

I have been assured that my arm-grabbing is a satisfactory experience for all parties involved.

  1. You are changing your original claim (of course, you are Dio, and that’s what you do). You first spoke of surrendering autonomy and now you are speaking of subordinating your entire life.

  2. Really this post is inveighing against marriage itself–all marriages involve surrendering your civil rights and subordinating your life to another, at least to a certain degree.

  3. Really you are just using the word “rational” to indicate whether you agree or not with someone else’s decision (ie, the exact thing I’m accusing you of doing). That is, if someone maes an agreement you wouldn’t make, then by that fact alone you believe they are acting irrationally.
