Breaking Bad 5.13 "To'hajiilee" 9/8/13

Texas bankroll - he just needed enough to cover the top of a barrel. The shot was from far enough back, it could have been bricks of 1’s or 10’s (or one one-hundred dollar bill on top of a set of newspaper).

Why didn’t they show their badges? Hank could have pulled his and still kept his pistol trained on Uncle Jack.

But, especially since he can only let the tip of his empire show, the great big stacks of cash are how he keeps score. And without it, he’s just a shmo with cancer and a body count and a car-wash his family might or might not get to keep.

He probably figured they would just start shooting if he looked away or took his attention off them. And they very well might have.

Agreed, they would have shot when he pulled his badge. Besides, they just followed Walt out to the middle of nowhere (so that almost automatically makes them bad guys as far as Hank and Gomez are concerned) , if you were Hank do you think these guy are going to say “Good Afternoon then, we’ll be on our way” when they see the badge. Nope, they’ll make sure you’re extra dead. They were asking for a badge to stall things while they figured out WTF was going on.

I see Gomez dying but not Jesse, & maybe not Hank. I think Jesse will flee, & Walt will get him later or the Nazi guys will. When Walt saw Hank, Walt called it off. (So we thought) Maybe Walt may say to spare Hank, if Hank stops trying to take him (Walt) down. Choose Death or Life?

They’re not going to take orders from Walt in the middle of a firefight.

They will if they want Walt to cook for them.

But if they had just made eye contact with him he could have said “They’re FEDS*, GO AWAY” and I think they would have hopped back in their car and left, fast.

*Yes, I know, but Feds is easier to say and most people know what it means. They are a federal agency, so he wouldn’t have been completely wrong.

I don’t think there’s any way that Walt’s family will get to keep the car wash.

(And I was imagining how the local Albuquerque news is going to report Walt’s story. “The DEA announced that a former chemistry teacher at Albuquerque High School was the mastermind behind a massive meth operation. He was responsible for the deaths of dozens, including ten felons all murdered at the same time in multiple prisons.” And can you imagine how little learning is going to be going on the next day at his old high school? They’ll all be talking about it for days.)

And another thing. If Hank dies, I suspect that Marie won’t want anything to do with Walt Jr and possibly not even Holly.

No, it’s too late for that. At this point they’re shooting for their lives. They can’t just put their guns away and leave.

He was screaming his head off even before they started shooting. They didn’t hear him or didn’t care. It’s not in their best interests to have Walt arrested and for the DEA to get a good look at them.

I think it was that they didn’t care. They seemed to be in "Never fear, the neo-nazi’s are here’ superhero mode.

I think Hank & Gomez are goners, Walt is going to let Jesse get away. When Walt was talking to the Nazi he asked “do you have eyes on Jesse ?” he never answered. Hank will be killed in the firefight, Gomez will be mortally injured and Walt will decide to finish him off.

And Lydia is hot.

So… Team Hank followed Walt into the desert by tracing the location of his phone? Is it that easy to do that?

There’re shooting to kill, but Gomez (I think is hit, & will die) & Hank is taking cover, runs out of ammo, (im guessing) at that point they (nazi guys) start moving towards Hank & get Walt out the car & thats when Walt says something.

I don’t think they used the GPS, I think they just followed him. In the city they just follow him like you would normally tail someone, but once they get to the desert (and they knew they were heading that way) they can stay back a few minutes and just wait until they can tell he’s turned off the main road.
On top of that, once they headed out to To’hajiilee, Jesse may have had a good idea as to where they were going.

That’s a half-measure, though. What are they supposed to do with Hank if he lives? Let him leave so he can go get the rest of the DEA?

He was driving like a lunatic and weaving through traffic, though. You’d need some pretty mad skills to follow someone driving like that. And isn’t “towards the desert” pretty much every direction out of Albuquerque?

I’m imagining that Walt does some fast talking to let Hank live. “Let him go and he promises not to come after. In exchange, I’ll cook for you.”

I may be reaching but, sparing Hank would mean Hank wouldnt do anything. In the end the whole point would be, The guy he wants to take down let him live, & he never got to get Walt. Life would be more important then taking down Walt.
