Don’t worry about it- I actually made the same statement (“The feds don’t know anything about Walt”) to my brother a couple of days ago! Then I started thinking about what else happened in that episode…
Jesse cares about people, and has limitations. The worst thing he did was kill Gabe, imho. That doesn’t warrant a death sentence… no one liked Gabe anyway.
Gale, and Gale’s popularity is neither here nor there- it’s still murder. And selling meth at those AA meetings was a horrible thing to do. He does feel bad about the things he’s done, but that doesn’t mean they didn’t happen. It’s hard to imagine Jesse getting away with all of this and I think it’s hard to believe he would be able to live with himself anyway.
My brother mentioned selling meth at those AA meetings. I guess what I meant to say is that there’s hope for Jesse still, as far as being crime free. He’s not as far gone as Walt. I don’t care if he gets caught, I do care if he dies. Gilligan was going to kill him off the first season.
I’m pretty sure that there was no agent watching Huell; it was just a ruse to keep him from leaving the room. Otherwise, yeah, I was completely talking out of my ass.
Someone mentioned this in another thread a while back- even if Jesse gets away scot-free, his chances of having a normal life are very slim. Between everything that has happened to him and his guilt over what he has done, he is emotionally shot. It would take a lifetime of therapy to deal with all of it.
I usually can’t wade through all the posts for this series, so I guess I missed that. It sounded like such a setup that I assumed there wasn’t anybody out there.
Phosphene gas will cause permanent brain damage at a level of 12 ppb (billion, not million). That’s roughly equivalent to 30 milliliters of liquid mixed into an Olympic-size swimming pool. If I needed to kill somebody, that’s probably the way I would do it. The only problem is that red phosphorous isn’t used in a P2P cook. However, Jesse knows full well that it can be obtained from matchbook striking plates. His buddy Emilio was shown scraping them in the first episode. Jesse, Todd, and Jack all use lighters though, so it’s not likely that there are any matchbooks lying around the Nazis’ lab, so that kind of shoots that theory.
I have a feeling that at least two of Jack’s crew are going to already be dead when Walt comes gunning for them, killed by infighting over the money. I can even see Todd revealing that he’s not as dumb as he acts and taking them all out, perhaps in an attempt to keep all the money for himself and/or demonstrate his alpha-male status to Lydia.
The agent did exist and was present when Hank and Gomie entered to interrogate Huell but exited on Hank’s “nod” and never returned to the room. The final break of the scene was Heull sitting alone in the room.
Gilligan’s crew does not miss a beat. Everything is a clue and nothing is a clue. The gas mask comment, the fact Jack smokes and Walt and Jesse put Ricin in a cigarette, Lydia and her cup of tea. There are so many ways it can go…
I know what I would like to see happen and maybe more importantly not happen. I am good with Holly and Flynn making it out unscathed and Flynn’s morals in tact, it would be unsettling to see him cooking meth with Jack and his crew in a final scene cutaway. That said, I fully expect, Todd, Jack and his crew and Lydia to die a gruesome death. Walt and Jesse…big question marks…
Au contraire! Gilligan has hinted at the possibility of feature films. “We have too much story to tell now,” as he put it. Can’t imagine a Breaking Bad movie without the Waltmeister, can you?
Before the Emmys Aaron Paul promised that the next two episodes will be even crazier, for whatever that’s worth.
Yeah, not happening. A cite would be nice, though, since I can’t find this quote anywhere and it contradicts everything everybody has said about the show.
That reminded me of the scene last week, when Todd said to Lydia that his Uncle Jack could “talk to” his contacts. (Presumably meaning that Uncle Jack could intimidate or kill the Czechs.) I’ll bet that it wouldn’t be that easy for Uncle Jack to intimidate the Czechs.
