They confirmed the report of an active shooter, they have NOT confirmed an actual shooter.
I work on a US military base. Not to say there’s something happening there or not, I don’t know, but this actually happens all the time (base lockdown, “THIS IS NOT AN EXERCISE,” “shelter-in-place,” police and marines standing around with rifles, the whole production). It’s never been anything, and they never tell us what triggered it.
Again, I’m not saying there’s something happening in Alabama or not, but don’t be surprised if it’s nothing.
