Breasts, cup size, and pregnancy

In ANY breast operation - reduction, augmentation, whatever - if the doctor has to relocate the nipples (i.e., cut the poor things off), you’re going to lose all sensation in them. IMO, if you can’t feel anything through them, and you can’t breastfeed with them, what good are they? I went from a B to a C and back to a B, but the damn things still bounce enough so I have to wear a bra even on the hottest days. I’d love to be able to go braless and not look like I’ve got a pair of Jell-o molds strapped to my chest. If your friend’s husband likes her the way she is, and her main concern is to be able to fill out some shirts, maybe she could try stuffing’em.

If you think you want to have kids, wait. Some say that the milk ducts kinda ‘regenerate’, but really, breastfeeding is best and you don’t want to screw with that. There’s a BB at ParentsPlace (www.parentsplace.com) about breastfeeding after breast surgery, so you may want to check there for better info.

Anyway, I was only an H for the first couple weeks after she was born, I kept shrinking. I was back to DD before I could fit in my old pants. So it’s not as bad as it sounds.

What Lance Turbo said.

I’m not a woman, but I’ve had girlfriends, and a sister who’s had kids, and my sister’s kids. So I have secondhand experience with these issues, and:

  1. I had a small-breasted girlfriend who nonetheless had a generous derriere and wanted to be “proportional.” So she wore Wonderbras. Problem solved.

  2. A friend of my sister’s was nicely stacked, until she had four kids. After the kids she was so small that she decided to get augmentation surgery.

  3. Another woman I know was always a B until she went on birth-control pills, and then grew to a C. She started the pills in her early 20s, so maybe she would’ve grown anyway, but I’ve heard elsewhere that this can happen. Maybe your friend should try the pill before considering surgery.

  4. Why wouldn’t she want to be a stripper?

Prior to kids, I was a 34A and rarely had to wear a bra. During breastfeeding my son, I went up to a 36 D. Loved the breastfeeding, HATED being so big. With my daughter I didn’t get so big, 36 C. Having stopped this nursing thing, I am at 36 B and probably will stay there for life. I wish I was a 34 A again. Tits are such an inconvenience.

Meanwhile I do have a stash of really nice Victoria Secret bra’s in 34 A that I more thank likely will never be able to wear again, but just can’t part with them. hell, they are barely worn. Maybe I’ll save them for my daughter.

Won’t that wig her out in 13 years. " Aw mooom, nobody wears fuddy duddy bras like thaaaat anymore. We all wear “AstroHooters, the antigravity bra.”

No.

You’ve been misinformed. There is always a risk of this (or, even worse IMHO, of them becoming hypersensitive), but it’s not an assured thing. One of the proceedures to move the nipples involves leaving the cut section on the stem of nerves and blood vessels and simply moving it up into place in the smaller breast. Another involves a complete graft, but even in that proceedure, effort is made to ensure that the new skin tissue is normal.

Nerves regenerate so long as they don’t continue to be damaged. It may take time before the area feels normal again, but if there is any nerve tissue left, feeling should return over time.

As to nursing a child, there is always a snowballs chance that it would be possible after a reduction, however, most surgeons recommend that you wait. Besides, if you’re going to reduce, then get pregnant, you might find yourself in a larger and worse situation than before. Have the babies, THEN get cut.

Maybe this should have been moved to GD, but I really wasn’t looking for whether she should do it or not… just your experiences with cup size increases.

With that said, I can certainly see the pros and cons of it. I do agree, however, that men don’t care as much as women think we do about breast size… sure, we will look… but quite frankly, the bigger they are, the harder they fall. And we all know that! My friend, however, is built like a 10 year old boy, and has always felt self-conscious about that. I suppose I can’t relate, but I can tell you that if men wore clothing that highlighed their penis size, we’d all be looking for augmentation too. (well, not me, of course)
