Brian Linehan passes away

Sad news for those Canadian (especially Torontonian) Dopers who watched City TV or listened to CFRB in the 70’s and 80s.

This guy was the greatest interviewer I have ever seen and I’m sure there is many a star who would have agreed. And the fact that in the 70s he could attract big Hollywood names to a local station in Toronto based on word of mouth of those who he interviewed says a lot. He will be missed

I think I remember Martin Short’s impersonation of him more than I remember the man himself.

I do remember the shocked looks on many a celebrity’s face as old Brian would mention some obscure little factoid of their life. They always had the same reaction “How do you know that? I’ve never told anyone about that!”

Sad. He was one of the main reasons City TV managed to get through it’s infant years.

'S too bad. He seemed a nice fellow.
