Brick House - A Silly Games MMP

Good morning! I woke up having a dream about Tom Hanks weeping to me over some trauma in his childhood or some such. The few specifics I remember include ruins of old buildings, a sink that didn’t work, and putting powder on someone, only to discover that it was finely ground gunpowder. After that, who could sleep?

Walmart still hasn’t delivered my new vacuum cleaner. I emailed and complained, and they wrote back to say it’s on the way but not to worry, they don’t charge my card till it’s delivered. Hah - how about it was charged 2 weeks ago?? I let them know what I thought of that - wonder if I’ll get a gift card for my inconvenience? I think they owe me some chocolate at the very least.

Today is finally the big day - we’ll be hooking up the new aquarium plumbing and with luck, all will go well. Speaking of bettas - I was under the impression that you never put 2 together in a tank. My daughter used to have a pair, but she had a divided tank so they could see each other but not get to each other. Which begs the question - where do bebeh bettas come from then? Not that I really care - we don’t do fresh water fish.

Other plans for today, you ask? Um, I should probably bring up our luggage for the cruise and start thinking about what to pack. There are things I can pack already - I doubt that I’ll be wearing shorts or my bathing suit over the next 4 or 5 days…

I have no idea what our taxes are going to be like this year. I did see my W2 for the 7 months I was working, plus my retirement incentive payout. Haven’t see one for my partial retirement payments, but quick math suggests overall, I’ll make the same or slightly less than last year, so there’s that. Unfortunately, OPM doesn’t yet withhold state income taxes from my pension money, so I may have to pay there. Plus at the end of the year, **FCD **had one short term disability check from which nothing was withheld. It’s probably not a big deal in the grand scheme of things. Anyway, I don’t expect to get our taxes done till we’re back from the cruise, and I’d be thrilled to be within a buck of our obligations. Ain’t gonna happen, but it would be cool.

We’re supposed to get rain tonight. As long as it holds off till we haul the stuff upstairs down to the new sump in the basement, it can rain all it wants. Depending on how long my sweetie sleeps, we may be done about lunch time, so threats of PM rain won’t matter. I see knitting this afternoon - I’ve finished 2 hat/scarf sets and I’ve started a third. I plan to have them all done, washed with the afghan I finished over the weekend, and I’ll deliver them all to Mom on Sunday. If I ever develop an allergy to acrylic yarn, I’ll go insane!!!

And that’s my morning so far. Stay tuned for further updates!

Blurf.

The day started foggy, and the forecast is for a metric buttload of rain.

It looks like most of the rain has passed through. I see a bit of blue sky peekin’ through as I look out the window. 'Tis very windy though. What would y’all do without my south Jawja weather updates!

MOOOOOOM it’s a good idea to start at least layin’ out clothing and stuff for the cruise. One does need to ensure the correct amount of undies has been counted out.

I’d love to be home today makin’ a big ol’ pot of chili cause I have a hankerin’ for some but, alas, at irk I am to be.

Ah the joys of the self-employed. I haven’t quite finished up with my accounting stuff from last year. But, I am waiting on one miscellaneous W-2 that hasn’t showed up from a temp job so it will be awhile before I get any tax stuff done.

Despite the fact that yesterday was the one that I was most anxious about, I’ve been having an anxiety attack for, oh, probably about the last 5 hours with intermittent sleep.

Now to try to act motivated and get some work done for the day.

Almost forgot to mention… I ordered a new pair of tennis shoes from Zappos last night when I got home from school which was at about 9 p.m. and THEY’RE ON THE TRUCK TO BE DELIVERED HERE THIS MORNING!! Wow. And it was free shipping, too.

Dentist, then architect. Laterz.

Rosie I’m sure there’s a dentist/architect joke in there somewhere but I just can’t find it right now. Maybe BBBobbio will be along to point the way.

I have been over to the senior center next door to do a presentation and to meet with a couple of folks. I am now back because it is eleven-thirty which means Bingo time. Bingo time can get cut throat at a senior center.

I was bad and didn’t go to taijitsu yesterday. I was hungry and tired and said screw it.

I’m going to two classes today and I’ll make up yesterday later (I think I can skip about 12 classes before I have to start taking Saturday classes and/or private lessons).

I’m not being very good about getting to work earlier. I’ve started 15 minutes later than I meant to all week (not late, because we have a flexible schedule and nobody cares, but I should make it up on Friday. I don’t know that I will.)

Swampy… Has you a crockpot? Make chili in it!
Tired. got my kitchen cleaned (mostly) have errends to run later, maybe. Oh what an exciting life I lead

I didn’t fall asleep until 2am despite my nightly anti-anxiety pill. I am not in a happy place today.

The aquarium is re-plumbed and the old sump tank is sitting on the front porch. I’ll get daughter to help me move it around to the back tomorrow. **FCD **is figuring out the computer now, which will give us control of everything but filling the sump. That part will be added after we get back.

I ran to the grocery store for a few items for us and some stuff for daughter next week while she’s staying here. I’ve got a fire going - it’s raining and just icky outside, and chilly and damp in here. FCD’s shorts were just delivered - as soon as he tries them on so we can be sure they’re right, I’ll run them thru a rinse cycle in the washer. That’ll be today’s big excitement.

swampy, we’ll have just enough unders for the 2 weeks plus one pair to get us thru the day we get home, when I’ll be washing the rest. I have no problem getting 2 or even 3 days out of a pair of jeans, but unders are a one-shot deal. I think it’s a law…

Sorry. I’m fresh out of architect/dentist jokes.

Quasi-Daughter has a betta named Alpha. I think it’s lived a pretty peaceful life. I will encourage her not to get it a friend.
I tihnk I’ve been saying this for about twenty-five weeks, but I’m pretty tired of being pregnant. If it were safe, I’d evict the littles now. As it is, they get another month, and then we’re going to deliver.

Silver Tyger, what are you going for your black belt in? I have to ask, as the wife of a professional ninja guy.

Taijitsu. And then I will be a pirate ninja.

OYKW has given me a sign he is feelin’ better. He wants pizza. Correction, accordin’ to him, he needs pizza.

MOOOOOOM ones dainties must be changed daily. It is a law. It’s everybody’s mother’s law. I also have a rule that there must be a spare pair or two just in case. One never knows when one might have an undies emergency!

congod - not as much as I would like.

Today was an easy day. A supplier took me for lunch and they paid

I have been working up some numbers on another commodity we are looking at changing suppliers for and I surfed a bit. Not a bad day really. My brain was mush yesterday after the conf call and will be mush tomorrow. Then Friday I get out of the office and go supplier visiting. Yay!

Weekend plans are to go visit mr ems mom & sis in TX and see how his mom is doing in the residential care. His sister and the doctor think we may be heading into the last couple of months with his mom so we are going to make the most of the time we have with her.

LiLi it has to be cool to be able to say that!

I had two one time, in separate 5 gal tanks. They were named Master and VHS.

Yes, it was the '80s…

More or less. He’s got his third degree in Japanese weapons, and second dan in tai chi and karate. His sensei wanted him to grade for third dan in tai chi in February, figuring he’d have lots of time off because of the twins.

So yeah, maybe at the next next grading. In October.
In Toronto we have this composting program, so we have garbage, recycling, and green bin pickup. The green bin is all food and animal waster, and diapers. The damn squirrels chewed through the lid of one of our bins a couple of days ago, and it’s been deeply depressing to watch the squirrel All-You-Can-Eat buffet on the porch. So I went out during naptime and duct taped a double layer of cut up aluminum cans over and under the hole.

An hour later, I’ve got a hissing growling squirrel that chewed through the layers and refuses to come out. Blast.

Suckitude aboundeth.

Found out that a co-worker was diagnosed with terminal cancer shortly before Christmas and has since died, but not from the cancer. The strangely worded email made it sound like a suicide. Sometimes you just can’t tell what turmoils lurk in a person’s life, and this guy was the epitome of ever-cheerful, often bordering on bubbly.

Aside from that, we’re packing up, getting ready to move. Our stuff has expanded to fill a five bedroom house. Where’s the tape?

Hello everyone. Life has been nutso-crazy for me of late.

**gotti, **I hope you’ve got some help with the packing. Aren’t you and your SO recovering from surgeries?

Work is suckitude, but that’s a repeating refrain with me. I shall survive, because I’m tough, damn it!

Loves, hugs, and smooches to all. Gotta figure out the dinner thing.

gotti sorry about that co-worker. Also, have fun with the move. I never ever want to do that again. Of course this means I will since I have so posted.

I’s tahrd. Gonna go lie upon the bed and watch me some teevee.

Nitey Nite Y’all!
