I’m in Sacramento, too, and very involved in the dog rescue community. If this is the same case I am thinking of, they dogs were left in his SUV. I only wish I was surprised this happened. We were all pulling for the one dog to make it. I know Dr. Rabinowitz from her work at the city shelter. She would not have authorized the 4th dog be put down if it was not absolutely necessary due to kidney failure.
From the Channel 40 report, “It’s kind of like asking a big footballer to get wrapped in cellophane, breathe through straws, and go out and run around the block. That’s what it’s like for a muscular breed,” said Rabinowitz.
If Sac County AC is anywhere as awesome as Sac City AC, they will do everything to make sure this guy is fully prosecuted. Sadly, the laws are not very tough on these sorts of crimes.
