"Broadband" net access

I ran the test from the earlier link, ND server, speed was 2985 K.

I have Comcast cable, pay about $46 a month.

I have 1.5MB/768 ADSL for $24.95 CDN (about $20 US?) per month.

It’s been absolutely rock solid except for a hiccup last month due to them replacing some hardware… but no problems since or before.

Damn i am jelous of all this, i am currently on dial-up, because ADSL ins’t available on my phone exchange yet. This is supposed to change this month but knowing our evil phone company it will take months…

And thanks to all, you have proved my suspicions that NZ is in fact getting ripped off when it comes to fast internet. Add to that the “broadband” plan i mentioned isn’t even real broadband. (Broadband proper starts at 384kbps or so i’m told).

I’m paying £17.99 per month for 150K down and 64K up on NTL cable in the UK (faster services are available, but it’s all I really need/can justify spending)

See how fast you really are:

I have Verizon DSL, very fast, very reliable. I think it’s like 35 bucks a month, not bad at all.

I am at about $50 US for a 640 down and 256 up…I am “guaranteed” 80% of those rates…aka 512 down and 204 up…I get better speeds than that however but never higher than the 'sposed speed.

Just tested my connection at toast.net, using the PolarCOMM server, got 3175 kbps for $45 / month unlimited. Road Runner from Time Warner Cable.

100Mbps Fibre-to-the-home. JPY3900, or about US$35, per month for unlimited usage.

I clocked in at 1254 kbps DOWN and 136 kbps UP.

Verizon DSL, central Florida.

512/256 @ bout 35 USD a month.
I am however able to download at a much higher rate from decent servers, so I suspect I may well have 1 down, half up.
I am not going to ring and ask

I currently pay about $45/month for 1 Mb downstream and 128kb upstream.

I am moving in a few weeks though and then I am going to go with a provider that gives me between 8-12 Mbit/s on my downloads and 1-9 Mbit/s on the upload speed, depending on how far from the nearest station I am. Price circa $50 per month.

$59.99/month for Direcway satellite access. I’ve tested both up and down and gotten above 1.2Mbps. It’s pretty handy. And easily networked in our home.

I’m paying about $30 a month for 512K up/128k down. I pay it quarterly.
