Broken iPhone Screen Work-Arounds?

Does anyone know if I place a clear packing tape over the shattered glass* of an iPhone…will the touchscreen still work? Or, will the tape idea work if I use a stylus? If not, can I still work the phone’s buttons (including keyboard) if I place the iPhone in a sandwich baggie? …Any other suggestions? :frowning:

*picture the whole screen effectively shattered in a “spider web” of broken glass.

If the glass is broken, but the digitizer (right behind the screen) is ok, then you can keep using it, and the tape will keep pieces from falling out. Should work fairly well. For a while, anyway.

If it doesn’t work right now with broken glass, then tape isn’t going to fix it.
