The Cylons seem to be under the command of the “skin jobs” in the current war, but the human looking cylons are supposed to be a new innovation aren’t they? We see vey little in the way of initiative/intelligence from the toasters, so where did the orders come from for the 1st cylon war? Could it be that the Cylon “God” is some super computer that has been running the show for centuries?
I don’t think this has been established. We don’t even know what the original rebellious Cylons looked like, since presumably the toaster centurions in the show are specially built warrior models meant to function as front line troops in the war.
I think it would be cool to have a sort of “I Robot” early android looking thing, a cylon that got smart by accident and led a revolution, & etc. It could be this really old, crude, battle-scarred mannequin, and not what you’d expect at all. Maybe have a creepy modulated voice too, that’d make for an interesting god.
We do know that the original-series Centurions as seen by Baltar in the Galactica’s museum were said by Six-in-his-head to still be around. And since those were the Centurions in the museum, we know that model was involved in fighting the Cylon Wars, 30 years ago.
We also know that Adama wasn’t expecting it when Athena told him that the newer Centurions can’t distinguish between copies of the skinjob models – so we can infer that he’d have expected otherwise, from his experience in fighting the original Centurions during the Cylon Wars.
And from what we know of the series bible, the Cylons were built by the Colonies to fight other Colonies. I’d think that would make one super-WOPR running the Cylon Plan to be unlikely.
