Can someone explain the technical details of this to me, please? How where they able to zero in on a particular computer, based on the “electronic imprint” of a floppy disk?
Can’t find a cite, but I heard on the news that they had used “undelete” on the disk and uncovered old files that they linked to BTK’s church.
Dumb bastard got caught for being too cheap to buy a new disk.

Seems to be one of the few sites with good info about the disk. Most of the other articles out there imply that the church’s computer somehow left an “imprint” on the disk just by being inserted into it to print a document.
