bubble & squeak?? what is this?

My parents came back from a recent trip to London and mentioned some culinary thing called “bubble & squeak.” Anyone have any idea of what this is?

Primarily last night’s leftover cabbage and potato crushed together, seasoned and fried. It’s part of the traditional full english breakfast. Obviously cafes and restaurants don’t use leftovers.

Oh and I think it’s fun to order in a greasy spoon, “full english, double bubble please”

Bubble and Squeak is fried up leftover vegetables - mostly mashed or sliced up potato and boiled cabbage, but any vege can go in. Use lots of butter to add flavour to the spuds, fry and enjoy.
