We are now two weeks away from the premiere of this movie, and I am already tired of it.
For the past three weeks, I have been bombarded by commercials for this movie. I have been subjected to that stupid 90s song that accompanies the commericals as well (you know, the one that says ‘don’t give up’ and ‘you have a reason to live’?).
What I want to know is, why are these commercials being run ad nauseum on my TV?
Personally, I wouldn’t go see this movie anyway. Any movie that tries to carry itself by using one sole site gag (namely the bubble) is doomed to failure IMHO.
Is anyone out there even remotly interested in watching this movie? Isn’t everyone burnt out on this movie already?
"Seinfeld’ already did a show on the subject and, bad taste aside, the bit ran out of gas before the 1/2 hour was up. Still, it does have Fabio in the cast, so I’m expecting great things.
Jonathan, you’re not the only one. I haven’t seen
one ad for any of these movies either. I think
these folks watch too much TV!
Peter Gabriel’s “Don’t Give Up”? Stupid? Are you mad?
That’s one of the greatest songs…well…EVER! You can’t
get much more Food of the Gods-like than Peter Gabriel
and Kate Bush together. And it’s being used in a silly
commercial for a silly movie…sigh.
I especially love how they only have one commercial for this movie, too.
And I’ve mentioned this in another thread, but I’ve been seeing a lot of ads for this movie staring the ugly monkey-boy from SNL (Corky Romano, I think)–the film doesn’t open until OCTOBER!!!
