Buffy 01/07/03 Showtime [spoilers]

It was her 17th birthday. And as far as underage sex is concerned, isn’t it being kinda hard the grounds for prosecution?

buffy is like wwf. she could be fighting joe no-name vampire and get her ass whipped for 75 percent of the fight, then all of a sudden call upon some untapped energy and then literally dust his ass. she should pack a sword or something. swing swing swing, chop chop chop, ANY vamp is dead. but it’s a tv show, and 2 second slayings probably wouldn’t show well in the ratings.

and upn ratings? what shows actually do well? remember, this network (and i’m using the term very loosely) schedules “girlfriends”, “the parkers”, and “half and half.” no way can any of these dogs beat buffy in ratings. but i guess buffy costs a lot more than these half-assed sitcoms, so maybe the do come out ahead as far as actually money goes. i often wonder what it would take to actually have a show canceled on upn. they showed “moesha” for like 6 seasons…

Buffy is like a panda? :stuck_out_tongue:

I’m not saying throw a pre-slayer in a room with a vamp before she gets her powers and hope she survives. You’d have to assume the Council has at least one vamp a prisoner for study. I’m saying train them so that at least theoretically they know what to do. How to use the weapons so they can defend themselves when the power comes. Super strength is fine, if you know how to use it. If not, it would just take you longer to die. Send the girls to a “special” school, at least for a few years. As for letting them walk in the real world, shouldn’t their Watchers be teaching them?

I’m also not saying send them to boot camp. What I am saying is that the Council is depending on a Champion who gets her powers without warning when the current, experienced one dies, likely at the hands of something nasty. Shouldn’t her (possible) replacements ALL be ready, at least a little? What if the next in line dies in a plane crash on the way to Sunnydale? They have to start all over.

And I like Kennedy. She’s got Slayer potential.

Ha! This is what it is like in the BtVS video game: you have a life bar, and a slayer-power bar (to do special moves). The life bar doesn’t stop you from being dead, it stops you from being killed (enemies have special “kill moves” that they do: bite your neck, break it, etc). If you are a decent player, you can last a long time with no life. Neat!

BUffy was finally able to kill the UberVamp because she’d finally had a decent night’s sleep and some food. Remember, even dream-Joyce told her she needed to sleep.

Spoken like a true mother.

Interesting note on the whole “slayer line follows whom?” line of thought. Watching the season 3 DVD I noticed a comment from the mayor. He told Faith and Angel not to hurry up and kill Buffy because he didn’t want a new slayer running around town.

Now, not that the mayor is all 100% on slayer lore or anything, but he clearly knows there are two slayers, and he’s no idiot. [shrug] Food for thought.

I hope there is an episode where they at least discuss springing Faith to help fight TFE.

Seems to me to fight the first evil, you should enlist the help of the first good. Reading in www.epguides.com, I see that

Buffy goes back in time to meet the first slayer

I’m wondering if we heard the entire conversation with the floaty eye. Why didn’t they ask about the ubervamp while they were there?
