You sure about the skirt? Earlier in the ep she was wearing a calf-length leather skirt. But as I remember the sex scene, at one point Spike had Buffy pinned back against the wall, and she had her legs wrapped around his waist - I thought she had pants on at that time. Don’t recall seeing any leg. As for Spike, who knows what was going on under that coat.
Not that I’m trying to pass myself off as an expert at building demolishing vampire sex while standing, but despite the apparent unzipping, their subsequent acts sure looked to me a lot more like dry humping than intercourse.
I know that she was wearing a long black leather skirt when she left the magic shop, because I remember thinking, “I hope she doesn’t go patroling in that get up. I just checked - she was wearing the leather skirt with knee high leather boots and black leggings of some sort (I’m assuming leggings given the apparent ease of access). The skirt did seem to limit her fighing ability though, since as far as I can tell she only did one kick and it wasn’t especially impressive.
My love for the Buffy the Vampire Slayer became known in my office today. After a series of ribbings that I watch the show (I’ve been hooked since day 1), other people began coming forth and admitting their addiction. I have about 10 coworkers to speak with about the show. One person who referred me here, and I have to say, it is nice to see people that can appreciate the show. Now that that’s done:
I love it that Spike got his wish. I’ve been waiting a long time to see the two of them shag, I just didn’t think it would happen. It will be interesting to see how that turns out.
I like the geeks. They would be annoying if they got more screen time, but they only get enough to be funny, then they’re gone. If only that would have been the case with Riley…
I picture Willow going straight evil. Does anybody else see that coming? I also picture Buffy not being able to stop her, and Tara and Dawn teaming up to lay some smack down on our geeky-bookworm-now-lesbian-witch-gone-bad friend. I don’t want Willow dead or anything, just put into place. Maybe Ethan Rayne could show up…

Okay, good to know logistics aren’t being ignored. Also good to hear that the Trio is just comic relief. Most times they’re pretty funny, but I do think the jokes hit close to home. Hehe.

No. I actually fear there is a type of inverse relationship. I.e., the more of us you put together, the further you get from a single responsible adult life.
Okay, now I feel like a dork, because that final Buffy-and-Spike-bring-the-house-down scene just confused me. At one point I thought, “Okay, they’re going at it,” and I was all happy for Spike, then I thought she still had her (what I thought were pants) on, now I come into this thread and there seems to be a consensus that they did it.
Do you suppose Joss and company meant for us to be confused about what exactly went on? This wasn’t obvious like other sex scenes from earlier in the series . . .
As part of the FX T-day Buffy marathon, they showed the ep where Spike is shown killing the two slayers (hijak: was anyone else realy disappointed in some of the eps that were chosen? I mean come on, where was “Hush”? Where was “The Body”? Why vote for “Graduation Day” when both parts were shown in regular rotation on Monday and Tuesday?). There was dialogue there indicating that the chip can somehow sense Spike’s intent. The chip “knew” when Spike was throwing punches at Buffy that Spike knew he couldn’t actually connect, so no pain. A truly amazing piece of technology, that chip. Not only does it read minds, it can also analyze the genetic makeup of everyone in Spike’s proximity to know whether, if he means to hit them, it’s OK for them to be hit.
Oh, and I didn’t think we actually saw the Spiking during the last episode. I think it’s going to actally happen in the mystic time between episodes whereby a week in our world equals, um, however long Spike can last in theirs.
I must say, I do like the trio, if just for some little laughs.
