As the series finale is rapidly approaching
, I better get this question out there that his been bugging me for a while.
In Buffy’s opening credit sequence, there is a monster/demon that I don’t recognize. It’s a white-headed thing that looks kind of like HR Giger’s Alien, with a kinda phallic elongated head. It’s the first monstery-thing in the credits, and it appears almost immediately after the series title, and before Sarah Michelle Gellar or any other cast member’s name. This is in the current UPN credit sequence.
What is this creature, and what episode did it appear in? I thought I had seen every episode, but it’s possible I missed one somewhere.
And I thought this was gonna be an easy question, like “Why is ASH ‘special guest star’?”.
You’re right, I can’t remember which episode either. Could this be the Fairy of Misdirection?
That’s the creature that appeared when the rifts opened up during Glory’s ceremony in “the Gift,” the season finale of Season 5. One of the blue blasts of energy from the rift created by Dawn’s blood struck a building, and a whole ton of those things showed up.
Spectrum’s got it.
The more important question is what episode is the scene from where they’re all standing in the doorway screaming? That’s been bugging me all season.
The scream in the doorway is from “Tabula Rasa” in Season Six, where the gang loses their memories because of a spell Willow did. They all wake up in the Magic Box, not knowing who they are or why they’re there, and when they open the door to leave, they see a gang of vampires who are coming to get Spike (for an unpaid debt).
In the earlier seasons, during the credits there was a scream-like guitar squeal that isn’t in later seasons. It looks Willow screaming during this sound; what was happening to her?
That’s not Willow. That’s Amy’s mom from The Witch, when the magic is being reflected from the mirror to her, sending her into the “dark place” aka, the cheerleading statue.
