Buffy fanfic WRITERS - help needed!

I figured, with the huge Buffy contingent here at the fabulous SDMB, there might be a poster who is involved in the murky underbelly of Buffy fanfic on the web.

I have a sizeable collection of fanfic poetry (no, it doesn’t suck, I promise) and I’ve been looking for almost a year to find a website that will host it. But no go. I might be looking in all the wrong places, especially since my own reading tastes are along the lines of shipper sites and coughcoughsmutficcough[sub]TEAOWAS, anyone?[/sub], and my material doesn’t really fit into those categories. It’s just that… there is so much stuff out there, and sifting through all of it is daunting, which is why I’m asking for help. I don’t want anyone to go out of their way, but if you’re reading this, and you know of a few leads off the top of your head, I’d appreciate it.

If you’d like to keep your Buffy authorship anonymous (I know how thankless fanfic can be), read a sample of my work, and/or recommend a little alcove for my ditties, email me at kungfulola@hotmail.com .

If it’s not ship/smut poetry, I’ll host it at False Prophecies It’s an archive I just started putting together for fanfic/art/poetry etc that’s not focused on ships.

Woo-HOO!

Ahem. Okay. I am calm now. I am breathing, and calm.

I didn’t expect an answer so soon!

Well, I’ll submit my shtuff. Thanks, Pepper. Your requirements mean that a few of my “love poems” can’t be submitted, but at this point I will take anything I can get. Not that I don’t appreciate it - exposure is GREAT and this opportunity is awesome! Thanks again, thanks, thanks a million times!

I’ll take it for my site as well if you like- I host anything up to NC-17, and have been looking to branch out into other 'ships.

You could also google for free web hosting servers and put up your own page. HTML isn’t that hard really, and you can always ask here for help with that.

You are very welcome. I’m going to updating the site tomorrow, I’ll add everything then.

I actually started False Prophecies because I couldn’t find any place to archive my latest, gen fic and I thought “Nuts to this! I’ll make my own archive and awards site!”

Yeah, I’m insane.

That would be a great idea, but I’m terrible at updating (witness my dusty, musty LJ), and general upkeep (witness my dead houseplants and unkempt, hungry girlfriend).

In conclusion, KFL != webmisstress. Combine the pressure to update with my general incompetence at computer language, and you have a situation I would rather eat glass than be in.

I don’t want to hijack the thread here, but can someone tell me what a “shipper site” is? I’ve never heard the term before.

Dedicated to a specific relationship, MidnightRadio. Like, Spuffy shipper is Spike and Buffy. BA shippers, Buffy and Angel. I’m pro-Riley, but you’ll never get me to admit it.

Oh, wait…

kung fu lola you might like to try fanfiction.net too in one of the Buffy catogories (there is a Buffy poetry catogory btw). I just started posting there again - after a year and a half absence- about a month ago, and boy, I’ve gotten a heck of a lot more response this time around. See? http://www.fanfiction.net/~neoxphile If you want to register, the links at the top right of the page
.

Except, however, in the X-philedom. For inexplicable reasons, to a phile a shipper is only someone who is interested in Mulder and Scully’s relationship. Then a Dripper is someone who likes Doggett and Reyes, and Dipper likes Doggett and Scully, and… it confused the hell out of me when I first started reading and writing X-Files fics since everywhere else you’re a ______ shipper.

Silverlake is also a good place for fic of all shapes, sizes, 'ships and fandoms. Their site design could be improved, but they have a lot of good stories there, some in fandoms you don’t see anywhere else, and they take all kinds of fic.

Buffy plus Riley
My shameful little secret
SO cute together!

SINCE WHEN!?!?!? I must be sadly behind the times. Thanks for the info.

They just gotta be different, don’t they!

The truth is out there.
