Buffy Fans - You watching Ringer Sept 13? (SMG's new show)

Official site with preview. Be sure to click the comic con preview is really, really good. “you have the wrong girl! oh yeah, that’s SMG at her bad ass best.

cast

So far, it looks pretty good. I’ve waited a long time for a new SMG series. I’m a little bummed that neither Joss or Jane Espenson are involved.

Eric C. Charmelo & Nicole Snyder created Ringer. They both worked on Supernatural and 'Til Death Do Us Part.

It is definitely a showpiece for Sarah. It’s going to be weird seeing her in danger without the Scooby Gang backing her up.

I wonder how well this show idea will work for a series? :dubious: I can see a fantastic two part episode here. But will the entire series be Sarah living the life of her dead twin? That’s going to be tricky to keep interesting.

Pilot script review. Seems spoiler free to me. The same info is in the previews. There’s an extended preview video on the page that is worth watching.

Here are screen caps from the pilot. Seems spoiler free to me.

Extended preview in HD.

Sorry for multiple posts. Silly Edit time out makes it impossible to avoid.

I have it on my calendar to DVR and see if it works - I’m with you, it’s about time SMG got back to TVland - and I’d love to see Joss back, but with something OTHER than Dollhouse. Which I hated. Loved Buffy, Angel, Firefly (uberlove on that one), but Dollhouse fell below flat for our household.

While I’m sure it’s been done to death everywhere on the interwebs including here, Bring Back the Browncoats!

I will be watching it. I don’t expect too much from it but at least it has to be better than its teen doppelganger, The Lying Game.

I’m definitely going to give it a try; SMG’s a good actress.

She doesn’t appear to have aged.

Oh, yeah, I’ll be watching this.

Pass. The concept seems stupid to me, and SMG wasn’t the reason I watched BtVS in the first place.

I’ll let it air for a few weeks and see what people think. I’ll check it out later if it gets positive reviews from people.

The Onion AV Club raved about the pilot. But the whole thing looks so aggressively stupid (plus, I hate soaps) that I don’t imagine it’ll last beyond the first season.

And I second the fact that I never watched Buffy for SMG.

I’ve seen the commercial 70 bajillion times and decided to record the pilot. I’ll probably watch at least the first few episodes and see what happens. Whether or not I continue after that will likely be largely based on how the discussions here go. If I’m not totally into a show, but there are lively weekly discussions then I tend to stick with a show much longer.
I never watched a single episode of Buffy*/Angel or anything related to it so I figured maybe I could get in on the ground floor of this if it takes off.

*However, I did put it in my Netflix Instant queue a few months ago, but got caught up in some other shows first.

SMG was my very last reason for watching Buffy, so I’m going to give it a pass.

I watched not only Buffy but also All My Children for SMG. Love her. This is the only new series I give a shit about.

I’ll watch it, mainly for SMG.

Show looks eerily similar in concept to ABC Family’s new show, one twin taking the other’s place.

I was a HUGE Buffy/Angel fan, but I gotta say… I haven’t developed very much interest in her new show as of yet. I say they just bring back Buffy haha

Hmmm. I was going to say pass, but the extended preview has piqued my interest. I’ll watch the premier and decide from that.

I watched “Buffy” despite the bad movie that preceeded it because SMG was Kendall Hart, the daughter from hell, on “All my Children”. But I haven’t forgiven her for taking her TV success and making, not one, but two, count them, two Scooby Doo movies.

I have it on my calendar to DVR

I never saw an episode of Buffy and this show looks a little too corny for me. But, a friend of mine makes an appearance in the pilot episode, so I’ll probably watch it.

I haven’t been remotely interested in any WB show since about season 4 of Smallville, and the ads I’ve seen for this do nothing to change that. The plot summary I read on IMDb makes it look absolutely ridiculous.

Based on the commercials, though, this show might make for a good drinking game: Take a shot every time somebody says “Siobhan”!
