burning single songs from a CD

I have a bunch of CDs (that I bought, not borrowed) that I want to burn only a few songs off of. The only problem is, I have absolutely no idea of how to go about doing it. I have used the burner several times to copy whole CDs, so I am rather familar with it in that aspect, and I am not even sure if I can do what I want. I have two different burn programs: Nero Burning Rom and Adaptec Easy Cd creator. Can any doper help me out here?

In Nero, you just put an audio CD in your drive, drag and drop the tracks you want, and burn.

Ultra, it won’t work. It says that it can’t determine the SCSI/Atapi device that corresponds to this drive letter. I’ve tried it with both drives, but it does the same thing.

i use adaptec, and here is how i do it:
with a disc that i want to copy a song from in the drive and adaptec open to the audio layout screen, i drag and drop the track i want into the playlist. then i right click on that track (in the playlist) and choose “prerecord to wav”. you will be prompted about where you want to save the file and then it will save that song to your hard drive as a wav file. keep repeating this (switching discs in the drive as needed) until you have all the songs you want on your hard drive. then start a new adaptec disc layout and just drag the wav files from the folder you saved them in and arrange them as desired and burn them to a blank disc.

that might work Aixelsyd, I’ll try that. Thanks.

new music cds have copy protection systems…

You’d want to use an audio extraction program, they usually come with your cd writer, assuming its your music, of course
