Trumps people want Bush to endorse Biden because they think it will help Trump and his antiestablishment followers.

I wonder if it would cause actual outrage among progressives. Bush the Lesser is certainly no progressive’s favorite President but he’s no Trump either.

As for accepting and promoting such an endorsement, it gives Biden an opportunity to show that previous Presidents from both parties think he would be the best choice. Trump’s campaign can try to diminish that message by crapping on Bush if they so desire but I don’t feel like it’s a winning strategy.

On the other hand, if the strategy does work then the Democrats can use it too. You think it hurts Biden to have an endorsement from Bush? Imagine what’s going to happen when Hillary endorses Trump.

I don’t thing progressive Democrats would be thinking anything other than, “Trump is so bad that even Dubya’s against him!”

Jeb’s son George P Bush endorsed Trump. He’s Texas land commisioner.
