Bush Is A Moran, Vol. XXI, Chapter 310

I call the gentle readers attention to this over at Washington Monthly, so mildly lefty that no shield protocols are required…

Punchline spoiler alert: the following is the money quote, to savor the full import you must read the preceding set up! OK, here it comes, I told you!..

I find, to my astonishment, that my vast reservoirs of snark are not adequate to the inspiration.

So why didn’t you quote this part?

The article keeps calling it “his own plan” when it very clearly wasn’t what Bush wanted. And I should add that if you want to try to make other people look stupid, I suggest you proofread your thread titles more carefully.

“The buck stops here.”

He’s a kibbutz in northern Israel?

Friend luci, luxuriating as he was in this newfound proof of Bush’s alleged stupidity, was merely riffing on this unfortunate display – one which serves only to illustrate the fact that some conservatives can be as stupid as some liberals.

Geezus Christ, I want to strangle someone every time I see that reference.

Does anything think it is amusing?

Oh thank God, a new Bush pit thread. It’s been too long.

Ah. Does that mean that every time I type “teh” or “mispelling”, I can just say it’s a spoof?

What a fun article that was. Instead of being another episode about him killing people, he was just wasting money this time. My favorite part was Bush on Palin:

For once I can laugh WITH him. What a relief.

Bush on the McCain Campaign:

And while the OP’s quote does reflect more on Paulson than Bush, it still paints a pretty desperate picture of the state of our “leadership” back then. Paulson is a scary dude, to make me feel sympathetic toward Bush.

A “moran”?

Famous internet picture:

Here’s what I do, and you can do it too if you think you ought.

If I am directing the reader to a site that I know is slanted, I signal my awareness. Its a sign of respect, actually. What bugs you isn’t what bugs me. For me, its when somebody offers a cite from an utterly partisan source as though it was just coming over the wire from Nonpartisan Neutral News.

I think that stinks, its like pulling a fast one, or worse, pulling a slow one but expecting that the reader is so stupid he won’t catch on.

And I’m playing fair, playing on the square. I rag on people who present totally rightarded sources as authoritative, and I won’t send you to a Daily Kos site without saying “I know my cite is a partisan source, I accept your discretion to weigh that accordingly”.

So its a ragged sort of politieness, respect for another’s intelligence. I suppose I could make up some stiff, stuffy and formal phrase, but where’s the fun in that? Better a bad joke than a dry as dust formality.

Or you could just stop reading my posts? I’ll get over it.

You miss him a little bit, don’t you?

After what he and his cronies did to this country, there should be one every day. Minimum. Until (please!!!) the trials begin.

Hell with the trials, I want my trillion bucks back!

That would be like missing the symptoms after the penicillin takes hold.

George W. Bush should be the last person in the whole fucking world to call someone else “clueless”.

Further support for my theory that Ireland was settled by one of the Lost Tribes of Israel.

All right, as a typical moonbat leftie I propose we compromise… we work on getting the trillion bucks back over the next hundred years. In the meantime, in a typical display of American bloodlust, we beat Cheney with canes until he needs a wheelchair for real, for real.

I don’t get it. Isn’t this why presidents have advisors, so that they don’t need to have spent decades studying each of the dozens of topics that laws might cover? The dude misunderstood some economic theory, at least in part due to the fact that it was explained to him incorrectly. Do you expect that Obama’s understanding of economics is more nuanced than, say, Christina Romer’s?
