Because a lady I know around town saw me in the library today ad said the same thing!

I think the whole point was the way the spokespeople handled things. Bush’s spokespeople tend to portray him as flawless or something.

I was just curious as to why the spokesperson had to throw a lie in. Were the afraid it wouldn’t be macho for Bush to have an accident? Would it spoil his cowboy look?

Here’s another:

Bush was wearing his bike helmet and a mouth guard when the mishap occurred.

In light of the fact that he was wearing mouthguard, doesn’t the spokesman’s claim that Dubya was not whistling show tunes sound at least half plausible?

Can any braggart here claim to be able to wear a mouthguard, whistle, cycle and make other noises at the same time.
