And this is bad because?
You still didn’t answer my question.
BTW…Iraq is in chaos now.
You like women in servitude?
Even under Saddam women were free.
I agree.
No we should ask ourselves at what point do these incursions cost more then they’re worth? Was invading Iraq worth 100 billion? Sure. 200 Billion? Eh. 400 billion? Um, no.
It’s about thresholds, which are entirely debatable, but everyone has a limit.
Help me out here, buddy, because I went over the thread, and I don’t see any question you’ve asked me. What is it you want to know?
To be raped by Qusay and Uday? Some freedom
I’m sorry. But invading Iraq wasn’t worth a dime if it means that to balamce our budget means we have to cut services to Americans.
and this fits where in the thread?
Unless you are saying they could rape all of the Iraqi women.
You are a fucking idiot.
Ryan, the point is this. There is a long list of priorities for the citizens of this country. For me, education and the well being of Americans (amoung many other things) trumps the well being of citizens in other countries. We focus on our problems, and if after we’ve fixed our problems, we have additional resources, then I say spend them where appropriate.
To put it harshly, I don’t give a shit about Uday and Qusay if my city doesn’t have enough resources to protect my family and friends from getting raped. We do need to pay for cops and things like that you know.
Good to hear it.
<Ryan_Liam>
Because the people of Iraq all know, without a doubt, that it was only through the selfless vision of George W. Bush, Dick Cheney, Halliburton, and the American people that they have been allowed to breathe the sweet smell of liberty that even allows them to vote for a government of their choice – that fundamental gratitude will live in their hearts forever, and they’d neveer do anything to betray this gift we’ve given them!
</Ryan_Liam>
It’s not hard to write your own Ryan_Liam response – just think of the most nauseating oversimplified mindless right-wing claptrap, then crank it up to 11.
Ah, time for rjung to make his nightly rounds. Democracy can rest easy.
You mispelled annihilating.
The Bush Budget is not even honest accounting. Of course, what else can we expect from a President who complains about runaway government spending due to his own budgets, and is best friends with the likes of Ken Lay. Or are they still trying to blame Clinton for this current budget defecit? I’m not really up on my Republican Doublespeak right now.
From the Washington Post (subscription required, but it’s free) - Bush’s budget is considered either farcical or tragic.
(emphasis added by me)
So yeah, it’s spend $80 billion (yes, with a B) a year to the Iraq debacle (which apparently isn’t even real money, or at least will come from some magic pot in the ground according to Bush’s Budget of Magic and Wonder), supporting the formation of a radical Shi’a Muslim country in the Middle East right next door to Iran and sitting on top of a huge percentage of the world’s oil reserves, potentially destabilizing the entire Middle East (which other than Iran is Sunni ruled, and the Sunnis don’t like the Shi’a very much), while at the same time cutting domestic programs to keep Americans healthy, housed, educated, and able to breathe the air and drink the water, to the tune of 14% year on year until 2010.
Oh, wait - I forgot. Big Business will keep the environment clean and will help educate the next generation and will provide cost effective housing for their employees, because that’s in their best interest. Sorry, how silly of me to forget that.
BTW - since this is the pit,
Ryan_Liam you’re a fucking tool. But since you’re still so stupid and all, since when has a 20% minority (like the Kurds) in any country anywhere been able to prevent a 60% majority (like Ayatollah Sistani’s Shi’a party) from doing something it wants to do? When you’ve had a chance to actually form an argument that consists of more than grunts, clicks and slavering fellatio for Dear Leader and the Do-No-Wrong USA, why don’t you get back to me?
Brutus - got anything other than a drive-by to contribute? Y’know, like facts? Surely you Republican lapdogs must have received your new set of talking points about how great the new budget is by now, right?
And you’re a Leftist cunt kicking cunt.
Lets get this straight, there is more than the ‘Arab Sunnis’ there is the Kurdish SUNNIS in which they’ll have to compromise with also, which accounts for 40% OF THE COUNTRY.
They can’t govern Iraq without the blessing of the other two ethnic groups, you cunt kicking cunt.
Like they’ve tried to do already, you know its untrue you asshole.
I’ve stated the fact repeatedly that I didn’t ever support the invasion of Iraq, but now since we’re there, its our fucking duty to see it through, for them, and for us, regardless of what you think. But wait a minute, does that fit into the view GWB invaded Iraq to make sure the Zionists with their bloodythirsty hunger for revenge against the Arabs, could get hold of their oil in which they could spray onto the Palestinians in a form of oppression?
Well, I do follow by example
America has more additional resources than anyone on the planet. Case closed.
Yes, of course you don’t. Do you know why 9/11 happened? You all seem to tell me it was ignorant and arrogant selfish American policy, do you see anything wrong with your statement?
Yes Reeder, keep thinking that, everything will be fine pats your retarded head lightly
go on now, play nice
I think the word you’re looking for in your mentally deficient little brain spasm above is ‘licking.’ At least I assume so, but with you little braindead chavs anymore, maybe that’s the new and coming thing. And don’t think you’re going to impress me with saying cunt over and over and over. I outgrew insulting people by comparing them to women’s body parts when I was ten.
Oh, and sweetie, I am not a leftist. I am not a conservative, that’s for damn sure, because I actually have a heart and believe in personal freedoms rather than government control, but I am definitely not a leftist as I believe in strong personal responsibility and I am a hawk in most matters.
I just don’t like you much. I think you are woefully ignorant and you should just shut the fuck up if you can’t contribute more than party lines and spewed vitriol to the debate. At least Brutus, while also ignorant, selfish and rude, is funny sometimes. You’re just boring.
20% Sunni, 20% Kurdish (mostly Sunni but not all), 60% Shi’a. Each block has their own representatives and their own agenda. A small percentage of each is also covered within the ‘nationalist’ parties that do not go strictly along Religious / race lines such as the party of the current interim PM. The non-Kurdish Sunnis have been the largest part of the ongoing insurgency and have refused to take part in the electoral process in Iraq thus far. The Kurds are agitating for their own independent state and have been since 1992 or so, not just in Iraq but in Turkey and Syria as well.
You still think a 20% minority, at odds with both the majority and the other minorities, can get anything done in Iraq? The non-Kurds certainly thought so. That’s why they picked up AK-47s and improvised explosives.
Wanna try again dipshit?
Yeah, my post was sort of tongue-in-cheek. And yes, I know what the “rest of (you)” are paying, as I’ve never needed to take advantage of my retirement medical benefits. I’ve always made a good living and not needed to rely on the taxpayer to fund my healthcare. My present medical plan requires me to pay $35 for three months meds, as opposed to $45 proposed for veterans. My former plan was $25.
Sorry. I missed that entirely.
Except this budget will not lower the deficit. It assumes the tax cuts will roll back, which the president is trying to prevent, it also does not include the costs of the wars in Iraq and Afganistan. That’s right, it’s a “wartime budget” which does not include the costs of the war.
