Bushco..in order to pay for our war...

Just injecting a little levity.

The above post was in response to this:

Yep, me too.

Hey, if a weekly Presidential blowjob is what’s needed to keep the nation prosperous and peaceful – instead of the current crock we’ve got now – I’ll gladly chip in some cash for the Oval Office Oral Oscillation Fund.

Ryan: *Oh my Turnout in Baghdad 95% *

Thanks for the link, Ryan, but since that was an unsupported figure being reported only the day after the election, I’m still kind of skeptical. More recent reports suggest that low turnout in Sunni areas reduced the total voter participation in Baghdad to much less than 95%.

Yes, kneejerk. You remind me of an alarm system set to go off at mere movements of flies instead of just going off when thieves break in.

I never said that Bush doesn’t want to cut health programs.

Oh, toughen up for a change.

Naw, I rather keep my folks employed and my clients served rather than being stuck on a computer all waking hours of the day, posting Bush Bash[sub]TM[/sub] threads. It just feels waaaay more productive.

Face your addiction.

Well, at least one good thing came out of it, the end of the Itchy and Scratchy boys. Good riddance to those two.

I had a chat with Ryan_Liam

I feel I must apologize for calling him an idiot.

It’s more like he’s a bit naive. You know…looking at the world through rose colored glasses.
Doesn’t make him right though.

Rose colored glasses? Try Cyclops’ goggles.

[sub]and still the goggles, they do nothing[/sub]

How long did it last though? Not long. Look at our situation now. Skyrocketing debt coupled with more spending, plus a tax cut for those who qualify, plus downsizing, outsourcing, and the pending removal of the Social Security safety net which will funnel money into private coffers affording less payback to the people being expected to pay into it. We have a Great Depression in the making. So when do we bomb Iran, Syria, and anyone else for having weapons of total and ultimate destruction? Wave the flag, have a few “chartreuse with polka dots” alerts, proclaim mission accomplished. By the way, has anyone noticed that since the election there have been no alerts or terrorist plots, or is it just me? It’s all bullshit, based on lies.
But back to Iraq. If we bail out now, they are screwed. They had an election, but now the hard work begins. The election was the easy part. Plus, “we” would then have to explain to the families of the dead on both sides, what the hell we did it all for.

Yes, no price is too great to pay in order to avoid that eventuality! :dubious:

SteveG1: * By the way, has anyone noticed that since the election there have been no alerts or terrorist plots, or is it just me? *

Actually, I believe there was a story out on 19 January about the Feds starting a “massive manhunt” for suspects alleged to have a possible plot against Boston:

I kind of expected to hear more about that, as it seemed to have two potential hysteria buttons in it: the introduction of Chinese terrorist suspects (blending anti-China sentiment with more recent terrorism fears) and the entry via Mexico (bringing in anti-migrant-worker sentiment).

Didn’t see much of a reaction, though. I guess if it’s only Boston that’s threatened, who cares what happens to those gay-marrying Kerry-loving liberals anyway.

Those Meddling Mexican Courts Messed up the Scare before we could get ourselves worked into a tizzy over it:

I do.

Even if Kerry was a mistake.

Well gee. Then why not just tell them “Sorry your son/father/brother’s dead, we had this uh thing we had to do, but now the primaries and the election and all are over, so fuck you all”. How about “Aw shucks, we was all drunk and thought it would be funner than heck”. Anyone with any decency or backbone at all would feel compelled to explain what was so important that WE started a war over it and have the FACTS to back it up. If Freedom is so important that we fought to force it on the multitudes of flower bearing and grateful Iraqis, how do we now pull up stakes and bail now when it is not finished? If we leave now there will be one shit storm of a civil war there, all our doing.

So what now? Don’t you think somebody somewhere would deserve an explanation?

It turned out to be a hoax(?). Whatever, I’ve been to Boston many times. I’ve seen the horror that is “normal” driving there. If any bad guy survives long enough to just get in, he/she has earned my respect for it. Boston roads and drivers are frightening. The Spanish bull runs are safer.

I am reminded of the expression “You can’t polish a turd.”

[QUOTE=SteveG1They had an election, but now the hard work begins. The election was the easy part. [/QUOTE]

Yeah, it’s usually the second election that’s the tricky part. Transferring power with no incident and all.

Personally I think there’s going to be a civil war whenever we pull out, be it next week or in 5 years. Since it’s practically inevitable, we might as well get out sooner then later and save a few billion in the process.

And this makes you right because?

You sure?

Looks like some officials are backing away from their original estimates.
