Well, they haven’t really been doing anything, so no real gripe is valid in what has been done. Since, you know, nothing has been done.
Where the fuck is all this money going? It sure as shit ain’t into my gas tank. I can tell you that right now.
He wasn’t, as you know. The point of the article is that for the past nine years—since the Republican “budget shutdown” of government in 1996—the Republican-controlled Congress has not managed even to pass the bills authorizing the money it’s spending, and has had to keep the government going by temporary funding.
I would think that you, as a Republican, would be genuinely concerned about this, instead of just griping that everybody’s picking on your poor overworked political leaders and not blaming Clinton enough.
Good question. Apparently lots of money is going toward “doing something”. Funny how there don’t seem to be any positive results. Funny how it is never anyone’s fault or it’s someone else’s fault when things go to shit. Maybe we could compare our current government’s reaction to Katrina and how it stacks up to previous governments (maybe LBJ’s direct take charge approach for one) reactions. Or we could just look at disparities between the mess in Louisiana as compared to Florida or Texas. Or, we could ask, if we are pumping billions into FEMA and its “parent company” Homeland Security, then shouldn’t we expect more action and less hand wringing inactivity? Indeed, where the fuck is all this money going.
