I just found a new addictive internet game based on the arcade game:

Click on start to start, press the arrow buttons to aim left or right, and space bar to fire.
Grouping three bubbles in a cluster pops them.
Oh heck. I love this game. I’m going to waste a ton of time.
I don’t normally take the time to play flash games but I couldn’t pass this up. I remember losing many quarters to this game in the arcades.
There were versions made for the PC. Here’s the demo version of the second one. I’ve downloaded it and it does run under XP with some minor problems. I kind of wish now I had bought the game.
