I take it this is not as well-known as I thought. The song is Jolly Roger, from Roger McGuinn’s album Cardiff Rose.
Leonard Cohen’s Hallelujah, as covered by Jeff Buckley. Rufus Wainwright gets it wrong IMO, by singing “you” rather than “ya” so it no longer rhymes.
